The golf course, which is locaed in Westman Islands (30 minute ferry ride from Landeyjahöfn) was originally opened in 1938 as a 9 hole layout but became 18 holes decades later. The par 70 course, which is set in an old volcano, is not the longest course but fantastic to play with great landscape surrounding the course. The wind from the Atlantic ocean plays a significant factor making the course a much more difficult track than the scorecard says. The course is where players have the possibility to save the score or shoot big numbers.

We played the course in summer 2011 with admittedly great weather (18 degrees and sunshine). The Links Course is eingebetet between sea, a volcano Arena and neat place. The condition was very good. The course is varied and not easy to play by the sea breeze. The views of the nesting sites of the parrot exchangers are great and also have taken a bad drive quickly forgotten. The prices are very moderate. In summer you can play golf midnight (a must). We played four places in Iceland and this was by far the most beautiful. It is probably no coincidence that the place is always counted among the 100 best in the world. Many Icelanders go to the weekend, especially on the island to enjoy this place. Here, the place is never crowded... in Iceland, the clocks tick differently... but also play most Icelanders Golf!
