Located on the scenic island of Storøya, Tyrifjord Golfklubb offers a tranquil golfing experience surrounded by the waters of the Tyrifjord. The 18-hole course, designed by Jan Sederholm and Tor Eia, is a blend of parkland and forest layouts. Players enjoy undisturbed rounds where the only distraction is the stunning view towards Norefjell. Signature features include the panoramic fifth hole and a historic 1,000-year-old oak tree on the seventh fairway. The back nine is particularly renowned for its proximity to the water. Facilities include a driving range and a welcoming clubhouse café.

Well worth a visit

Me and my girl played this course earlier this year. I didn't write my review before because I didn't come over this site until now + I was a bit surprised by the comment from the review from Franziska_Roland.
He must have been unlucky with the conditions, as the only thing we didn't like was the bunkers. Greens and fairways very good. Tee places ok. Some times not absolutely flat, but not really a problem.
The location however is heavenly. Like balm for your soul!
We also liked the layout and difficulty of the course. With a good float, you'll get a good score, but it's easy to get the opposite too :-D
A must if you want to play near Oslo

This is truely one of the most beautiful courses I've played and I've played more than a 100 places - mainly in Europe.
Situated on an island and perfectly integrated in the terrain. With the first nine on one side of the island and the last nine on the other (even more beautiful than the first nine).
The course is quite demanding physically (as many in Norway) with a really tough start with two long par 4 holes. The last nine holes are a bit easier to play than the first nine, partly due to two short par five holes.
The club house is nicely placed with a view to tee-off at the holes 1 & 10 + the green at the holes 9 & 18
Highly reccomended :-)

Top location on an island

We visited this place in July 2018. The location is fantastic on an island on the otherwise only a few holiday homes away and rarely seen. Many beautiful views, hilly, exhausting with carrying bags. Secretariat with a small pro shop, dogs are allowed.
And although there has been little rain this summer, the greens are very good, the fairways and tees only partially burned.
Conclusion really recommendable
