NEW Course not worrh it.

Reviewing NEW COURSE.
Me and my friends vacationing in Spain, starting on this course. Arriving you feel like in high class resort and it probably is. Checking was very fast and easy, I had chance to get logo ball for my collection and check in. We were asking if there is water available and refreshment on the course, we were told yes. We asked if we can get bottles to fill in and we were told that caddy master will manage, and there we did mistake. We forgot about "manana" style. On the course we were not able to drink because we had no bottles and refreshment cart arrived on 16th hole. Look like that there is no one interested in tourist money once they pay for fee. Training areas are nice and well maintained, BUT chipping green is artificial, so no reality. Driving matts, no real grass. Now I have to admit stunning putting green in front of the restaurant and great view on 18th green of Old Course. Clubhouse is very nice and stylish. Back to course and game. Finding 1st tee was easy. What a surprise was that course is completely dry, there were not much green grass on fairways. Biggest disappointment were greens. Fast no doubt, good roll, but horrible quality compare to practice green. So we came to Spain to play worst green for 3xhigher price than we have at home. Course is not very difficult, you will not lose a ball if you play wisely, fairways are wide. What was weird that all par 3 had same distance, so no imagination. Design wise its nothing special, there are nicer courses. Signature hole for me would be probably 4th. Personally I have no feelings for this course, but its just my view ;)

It’s OK

Played the new one in Nov 2017.
Hdcp 8 player.
Good greens with a speed of 10.5 Fairways partly dried out, also the grass around the greens to dry.
Overall the course plays off yellow very short, switched to white at hole 10.
Walked the course, which was fine.
22 degrees and blue skys, perfect weather.

Old Course

Played the beautiful Old Course. A course with lots of history and also the host of the European Tour's Qualifying School Final Stage. A tough course, quite narrow with lots of bunkers. Good condition overall, nice amenities and decent service. The driving range was as with many courses in Spain the only major let down. Greenfee is 127€ after discount, and seems a little bit high in my opinion, however I do recommend to have a go at it if you find your self in the area. It is a good option to the more expensive Sotogrande (180/200€) and Valderrama (330€).
