A Difficult Inland Links Not For The Fainthearted.

Like the other reviews state... you need to bring your A game to the Faldo Platz. It is a serious course, well designed inland links style, and you need to be accurate in order to stay out of the bunkers and enjoy the day.

The Palmer course is parkland and a lot easier on your body & soul. A pleasant parkland design where you can shape your ball around the lush trees. A must visit course even if it's just for the reference point of how tough a serious golf course can be.

Names are smoke and mirrors

3 courses that are relatively similar, for a decent green fee (week €70, weekend €80). The condition of the green fee is appropriate. However, the whole thing becomes a snap with golfamore. However, the facility is nothing special. It's just the big names that are special.
The women's tee markers were annoying. So blue used to be ahead of red. So suddenly there were black markdowns without a rating.
The complex still has a bit of a dilapidated 'charm' about it. There were tufts of grass in the bunkers, blocked toilets and collapsed bridges. The cleaning of the sanitary facilities was overwhelmed by the rush. However, the towel size is positive.

Palmers:
The first 9 are relatively boring compared to the second 9, which are actually really nice.

Eby:
Enjoyable to play. The last holes, including the forest holes, are worth highlighting.

Faldo:
Be extremely straight and relatively long and you could have friends as long as you are alone on the course. Otherwise you will be held up by searching fore-flights, as the clutter on the left and right of the fairway is extreme and has nothing to do with real left-hand courses.

Conclusion:
Recommended for a short vacation.

Bad Saarow golf course

Due to the classification as a 5-star superior golf course, we decided to take a short golf break in July 2022 at the Bad Saarow golf course. We reserved start times for all three courses a few weeks before arrival and also booked an e-cart 3 times.

We would have expected something different from a 5-star superior golf course certified as luxury by the German golf classification of the Bundesverband Golfanlagen eV.
The 5 stars may have been justified when the facility was still managed by Arosa. In its current state, the system no longer deserves 5 stars.

I expect something else from an alleged TOP course, for which you ask for a full green fee in the upper segment (18-hole green fee Monday to Thursday EUR 85.00, Friday to Sunday EUR 95.00).

For a green fee player unfamiliar with the area, the 1.8 km long journey to tee 1 is already an orientation journey. There are hardly any signs and the route is sometimes painted on the road in a white color that is difficult to read and quite faded.
The place itself makes a neglected impression. The way to the next tee is only sparsely marked. In many cases there are no posts indicating the distance to the green on the course itself.
At a price of 39 euros for an e-cart, we expected a display showing the topography of the fairway and distance information in the e-cart, also in view of the lack of distance markings on the fairways of a 5-star superior golf course.

We were so disappointed after the first round of golf that we canceled the other booked tee times for the next few days and the e-carts at the golf reception.
The employee at the golf reception didn't seem to be interested in the loss of income of around EUR 370.
If you go here for a golf holiday, you should accept some losses, or better go somewhere else. For the called green fee prices, there are far more beautiful and well-kept facilities in Germany. All in all, it's a shame about the demise of the facility.
In our opinion, it would make sense for the Bundesverband Golfanlagen eV to critically review the golf classification of the facility in Bad Saarow and correct the classification.

Stan Eby Square

On October 28th, 2021 I played the Stan Eby course, the last of the three courses at GC Bad Sarrow. My expectations weren't particularly high since the other two places are said to be better and are also very good from my own experience. I was even more positively surprised! The Stan Eby is definitely worth playing and in no way boring or a simple shooting meadow. It's an open course with a manageable amount of rough, which certainly suits higher HC. But, for example, lanes 13 to 16 go through a forest, here it gets narrower and there is a parkland feeling. The defining element of the course are very large and well-placed bunkers in quite a large number. There are also some water hazards that are better left out of the game. So strategic play can't do any harm here either. At lane 9 (PAR 3) you need a powerful tee shot to reach the green via the water. Incidentally, there are no 5 tee variants like on the Faldo, there are only yellow and red. Of the three, Stan Eby is the course with the most inclines. It often goes steadily up and down the hill. Those who are not quite as athletic should take a cart here. The views from the elevated tees and the distant view of the entire facility are very nice. There is also history. At green 13/tee 14 there is an information board about the stationing of Soviet missiles by the NVA during the Cold War. Parts of the corresponding bunkers can still be seen. The condition was 1a. From the fairways, to the tees, the greens and the wonderfully prepared bunkers, everything is top notch, almost no defects. Game operations were manageable here as well, albeit a bit busier than on the Faldo Course, which was possibly due to the nice weather. As a single player, I was able to start playing immediately on a sunny Thursday morning without a reservation and only ran into a two-man flight in front of me on the 16. As I found out today, the currently closed hotel is supposed to be sold, but so far no buyer has been found. It is to be hoped that the club will hold out. It is admirable that the courses are in such good condition with the small amount of green fee income. A note on tee 1 of Stan Eby. This is not remotely close to the tees of the other two courses, but about 2km away. After paying the green fee at the clubhouse, you drive back to Silberberg by car. From there, follow the signs. How to get to Stan Eby's separate car park. From there it is still 300 meters to the first tee. There is also a second driving range, toilets and a vending machine. If you walk from the main car park or drive a cart, follow the signposted Cartweg. However, that's a good 2.5 km past the Faldo course through a forest and a lap around the driving range. In conclusion, the Stan Eby course inspired me without devaluing the other courses. I give 4 stars with a tendency to five and make a clear recommendation.

Challenge Faldo Course

After I played and rated the Arnold-Palmer-Platz a year ago, I played the Faldo-Course Berlin on October 26th, 2021. First of all, it is wonderful that all three places in the system can now be used again. That doesn't seem to have got around yet, as I was more or less alone on the pitch today, with wonderful dry and partly sunny weather. The resort / hotel is apparently still closed, but the seats in Berlin are often full and the complex is not that far away either. The Faldo Course is without question one of the hardest courses in Germany. Not least because of the many bunkers and the extreme rough left and right of the fairways and above all between the tees and the fairway. Men do you a favor and don't turn down yellow if you don't manage at least 150 meters of carry over the long term, even with a headwind. The blue tees are on the Faldo Course like yellow on other courses. For the yellow tees, I recommend a single-digit HC. The requirements of yellow are of course attractive and are correspondingly high, but the fun definitely suffers. Incidentally, I liked the Front 9 a lot better because it was more varied, also due to the various water hazards that are missing on the Back 9. Although the course is basically flat, there are some nice, slightly elevated tees, e.g. from the 12 through the forest aisle. The fairways are partly wonderfully undulating. Regarding the current state of care: You can tell that the place is currently not used much. The haircuts are set wide and as good as not worn. The greens impeccable, if not particularly fast. Lt. In preparation for the winter there was already an instruction to a greenkeeper not to keep the cut so short. Unfortunately, very few bunkers were prepared, but they were basically OK. They usually have light, light sand, but are often very deep. Some of the bunker edges are beautifully planted with heather. The handles of the rakes could be a little longer, they are more reminiscent of children's rakes. The fairways are basically like carpets. But there were small lumps of earth almost everywhere, but that didn't really matter. The Faldo Course is surrounded by forest in absolute tranquility and nature, only the first two lanes are next to a road. At the tee of 11,14 or 16 it is almost eerily lonely and you think, when will the wolf come out of the forest? It is a shame that the greens of the 9 and 18 end somewhere in the middle of the course. A finish in front of a clubhouse terrace would definitely be deserved. In the meantime, the clubhouse has also reopened with ProShop, where you can now pay your grenn fee again and use the toilet and changing rooms. The employee was very nice and friendly. All three places currently cost the same standard green fee. Weekdays € 85 and € 95 on weekends are a steep price, but the place is there and it was also more expensive to play on the Faldo Course. As a resort guest or when booking online and paying directly, you receive a € 10 discount. Alternatively, GolfFeeCard holders receive a 20% discount, now also for the Faldo Course. Or play as much as you can / want with a day ticket for € 139. It's not quite enough for 5 stars compared to Palmer Platz, but it's close. Take on the challenge but don't expect your HC to play.

Nick Faldo Platz - Fantastic

After we couldn't play the Nick Faldo course last year, we made a new attempt in October 2021. From the first tee we liked the place, the bunkers are unique in number, quality and appearance. Every track is different and well-maintained. The course is definitely one of the top courses in Germany and is a must for every ambitious golfer.

Unfortunately, the place also demands sacrifices. As soon as you hit the numerous rough you can say goodbye to your ball.

The occupancy rate is very low, you can book start times at very short notice.

Faldo Platz - pleasantly surprised

I played the Faldo course on September 18th in autumnal weather. I was skeptical because of the bad ratings and the small amount of space occupied, but was positively surprised in almost all respects. Since the resort is currently closed, there is a bit of sadness around the place and in the clubhouse.
The condition of the course, especially fairways, greens and bunkers, is great, so golfing is fun.
The course is a great challenge, but also easy to play for the first time, as all lanes are clearly visible and there are no unfair surprises waiting.

Embarrassment

Hello, my wife and I were in Bad Saarow in March and wanted to play Stan Eby there. Our journey from Potsdam takes about 1.5 hours. The space and the entire facility is not worth the journey. Everything is rotten and worn out. The club tour is underground. We weren't even allowed to use a normal, functioning toilet, but were referred to a toilet room with no water or light. An absurdity that you wanted to justify with corona rules. No desire to clean up, and care, is probably the real reason. Result, women as well as men, had to go into the bushes. What a no-go, and an impertinence. For us it was the last time there.

Golf in the empty resort

Arnold-Palmer-Platz played on December 1st, 2020. The club's 54-hole course, which is probably operated by the AROSA Resort, is located approx. 70 km southeast of Berlin-Mitte and can be quickly reached via the A10 / A12 halfway to Frankfurt / Oder. You drive past the beautiful spa town of Bad Sarrow along the Scharmützelsee. The entire complex, including the two hotels, is in absolute tranquility and nature. Only on the feeder road L412 can you hear a car now and then. My current rating refers to Arnold-Palmer-Platz. The other two places were currently blocked. When I asked, I learned that Faldo-Platz, which has been closed for a long time during the Corona period, will also be reopened in the next season. The game on a cool but dry Tuesday morning in November was very manageable. Lt. A total of 7 players were registered for the day. The parking lot in front of the large driving range (accessible from two sides) was very empty and since both hotels were closed, it all seemed a bit bleak and eerie. The employee in the secretariat and pro shop was all the more friendly. The separate clubhouse was also closed, but the generous sanitary rooms and changing rooms in the basement of the clubhouse could be used. Arnold-Palmer-Platz, Parkland type, was in very good condition. Despite the season, the fairways were very well maintained, the tees perfect and, above all, the greens were in good order, faithful and fast. Only the many pitch marks show that some players unfortunately do not understand how to keep the greens that way. The course is designed to be challenging. There are all the challenges that a golfer could wish for. Sometimes you have to stretch yourself quite a bit when you tee off to reach the fairways. Higher HC should take the front tees. I especially remember the PAR 3 tracks. Water hazards with nicely laid out rushes shape the image of a top spot. Above all, the partially large and strategically well-placed bunkers are remembered. The place is divided into two parts. For the front nine you go across the street, where the first tee is the famous Faldo square. The back nine are then to the right of the driving range and holes 10 and 11 are a great start to the second 9. The standard green fee for all three courses is already at the upper level, but it is worth it. As a hotel guest you will of course receive a discount. A surcharge for golfers without a hologram is not charged in a thankful way that promotes golf. You can also view and book tee times as a guest on the homepage. I will definitely come back and try the other two places.

Shame about the great resort

We played the Arnold Palmer Platz today.
A really nice parkland course.
Unfortunately, the system is deteriorating.
The tees, greens and fairways were all cleanly mowed.
But the greens are very soft and slow.
The semi is partly pathetic.
Bald spots, wild growth of grass. Like in a pasture...
There were only red and yellow discounts.
In addition to the fairways, the place is unfortunately deteriorating.
The paths are partly unkempt. The bridges damaged with holes, or missing railings...
All in all, a shame about the beautiful area.
With a guest card you get at least 10% discount.
Anyone who goes here on a golf vacation should accept some losses, or even better go somewhere else.
Of the 3 18-hole courses, only 2 are open.
The Faldo Platz is unfortunately closed and decayed.

Less than average

In my golfing life, which has been short so far, I have heard and read again and again how great it is in Bad Saarow.
I made the jwd detour and was disappointed on all levels.
Nick Faldo is blocked, the hotel is closed, the clubhouse is closed, there is no gastronomy, there are savings everywhere. I caught the last of 8 ball buckets on the DR.
Broken champagne bottle on a tee, missing rubbish bins, no marshall, neglected discounts, broken teas everywhere.
Apparently Corona has had a full impact.
Nevertheless, I expect something different from an alleged TOP course, for which a full green fee in the upper segment is required!
With the exception of 2.3 lanes, the Arnold Palmer - even in top condition - is an average parkland course for me. Mostly you play through forest aisles.

Because I've been there before, I went up to Stan Ebby. Lies on a plateau and is very nicely laid out. It's a shame that I made the wrong decision.

Bad Saarow tournament week 2019 - Stan Eby place

I have 1.7. there in the course of the tournament week (which by the way is very attractive, unfortunately I was only able to play on the first day) played the Stan Eby place. Organization, place condition, tournament coaching, a blast, just outstanding.
The Stan Eby course - is rated as the "lightest", a links course with fairly open fairways and a nice layout. Is a bit further from the hotel (Silberberg), but there parking. Unfortunately, there are only old trolleys available (TIP: straps or rubber useful, so as not to "lose" the bag in slopes). Beautiful place that has its pitfalls, but always fair. Suitable for all levels!
The golf course is - other than formulated here in the info - but only at https: // www. gcbadsaarow. to reach. The Sporting Club does not exist anymore.
Directions from Berlin a good hour (depending on the storage situation), 70km.
Next year I would like to use the offer including hotel to play all 3 places in a row.
I'll be back!

Arnold Palmer TOP - Faldo okay

Arnold Palmer:
We have played there 3 times this year. Definitely one of the best courses (parkland) in Berlin-Brandenburg. Care condition in general. Great greens, very well maintained fairways and discounts. Some of the bunkers could use a little more sand. But it can also be that this had to do with the storms of the last time and the sand simply too much condensed. Then one would simply have to go through the machine several times with the machine.
Nothing destotrotz a great place, which calls after a repetition.

Faldo:
We had the place last year, but felt it as (to our taste) "boring". Link courses are definitely different. Only the pot bunkers on the fairways recall that this is a link course.
The condition at that time was very good. However, one expects of the name Faldo and the rather high green fee actually more.

We would definitely choose the Arnold Palmer again.

Gastro:
At tournaments we have had good experiences.
During the normal visit, we are unfortunately already times. Monday is the day of rest and when we were there last Tuesday was also closed. They referred us to the hotel, where, on the other hand, a limited meeting was possible due to a conference.
This has clouded the Golftag somewhat, especially since one could have indicated during the booking of the start time that the restaurant is actually closed on this day.
The prices are "sporty" - but one does not go there also to eat particularly cheap and to drink.

We will come back anyway

Nick Faldo was an experience

I played the Nick Faldo course in mid-April, and it was great. For the season a super care condition. Moreover, still on offer on a holiday for 60 euros. The place is also a real experience. With the many bunkers you should already think about where to play out and would rather submit a times more. So I thought it was a great experience, and will certainly do it again.

Beautiful places, unfortunately, very poor organization in gastronomy

We have experienced over the weekend with 4 2 beautiful golf rounds. The seats were in for the season very good condition. Unfortunately, since forming the positive representations.
On Saturday we were asked when ordering coffee and cake to leave the area quickly. When we tried again on Sunday after playing the Stan Eby cakes to order, was rejected by reference to an event. On both days, the terrace was visited at this time of less than 25 people.
Even our second group (18 people) who were guests at the hotel, got to eat quickly pointing out.
A system with this self must be capable of a tournament and a plurality of hotel guests and green fee to host parallel. Otherwise, guests stay in the future. Who wants to feel in his spare time as a guest 3. class.
I hope something changes. The men's group does not come, at least back next year.

Overpriced

We played last week Stan Eby and Palmer. First negative surprise: Fridays you pay already the weekend rate!
For the called green fee rates (80 and 90 EUR) there are far nicer and gepflegtere plants in Germany!
Here Stan Eby is still the more varied course with some view of the region. Difficulties for the well-protected greens. Palmer, however, is pretty boring at first 9. Hardly grounds, only forest aisles. In the second 9, we go to a little hilly and varied. Web 16 is half a (hotel?) Construction fell victim and is thereby a short par 3 course has not reduced green fees...
After the round we wanted in the clubhouse a little food. Unfortunately, you dismissed us because for 2 tournaments space was kept free.
Conclusion: you can have - not have to but

Very nice facility

Stan Eby:
Somewhat remote, but who asks in the clubhouse after the way the is either a cart, or the car is recommended for arrival. Who does not ask, just have to walk the 3km.
The place itself was nice to play - for me 3rd place of places there

Palmer:
as mentioned in other reviews, a beautiful parkland course. From maintenance condition ago mE slightly worse than Eby & Faldo

Faldo:
was our highlight! Care status 1A and despite coming on rain (negative: there is unfortunately only 1 shelter over the place) we both have this place to the guests. This may also be because, that we were able to avoid most of the abundant bunkers. I also think that it in this space does not necessarily make the length (I had just one H3 and no driver and have my HC played). Rather, one should worry with reference to the tables at the tee WHERE TO hinspielt the ball, if you occasionally rather not submit. So a bogey is usually there and with a (happy) Put sometimes a Par Conclusion: nix for "Bruiser's" and it is absolutely to know its beneficial lengths;. O)

I, for one have decided to be the last time in Bad Saarow. Around € 2.50 drink. Normally you count € 1.50. But it gets even better... For 3 piece 0.4 liters Tonic Water wanted to have me € 21. We played Jungsenioren Callenger there and there you have left the golfers at almost 30 degrees without round refreshments. I think this is almost injury. The staff is extremely rude and you will be treated by any Milchbubis only from the top down. From the clubhouse to Stan Eby, Tee 1, there are almost 3 km. At least the spirit of amateur golf is get lost there.

Strong Resort, but...!

Bad Sarrow is a great golf resort in Germany! However, I think (almost 600 played places) courses overrated!

Stan Eby:
A nice varied place of can come up with some top holes! Thankfully much he plans of the arrogant Nick Faldo avoid becoming a victim, who appeared shirt for German Ryder Cup application lumberjack!!!

Palmer:
Beautiful parkland course, believe in my Germany ranking to 35th place!

Faldo Course:
Who knows played Winston links or sand (sweden) as inland courses look in Links Style! I have no pot bunkers and the sandy soil, as they mainly have pine forest areas in Germany! The place is mainly due to its length very difficult Visually, it is good but not nearly as where he is praised there! With me around 20-25...

Bad Sarrow is overrated, but finally one of our best golf resorts in Germany!
The location is generally fantastic!

Greenfee luck?

Today we played for the 2nd time the short course with friends who have just taken the handicap. The site has been a good experience, it's good for beginners to practice.
However, a catastrophe is the pricing policy. On the website is valid for hotel guests and guests from Monday to Sunday, a green fee 20.00.
Last week you wanted of us have 25.00, this week it was already 30.00. After several discussions and reference to the website you then let us play for 20.00. Obviously calls already the Ryder Cup because you need probably a little more revenue.
Then please post on the website.

Well

've Recently played here and which has to be right, which denote the Nick Faldo Course to be extremely difficult. I have a 14er Hcp and also a healthy length, you need to have par-chances.
In short: For me, the entire Number one was too big, really have fun here probably more professional golfers. Very annoying that you have little chance to find warped balls again. To best it only captures not have to look at the the rough is really brutal. If you know the Course, you can probably avoid with good iron play the many and deep fairway pot bunker. Fun does not do that and to play his Hcp approximately, you can forget.
The Palmer Course on the other hand is a show, beautiful and above all fair. If this course would not, I would rather recommend to sail there and enjoy the great facility.

Stan Eby:
Looks easier than it is. Partial treacherous greens. Beautiful relaxed games with various challenges. ME is rated wrongly as rather uninteresting. To play well in any case for players with a higher handicap.

Arnold Palmer Course:
Class parkland course suitable for all levels, just nice golf game to wide variety of delicious tracks.

Nick Faldo Course:
Discerning links course, one should not go left and to the right to play of their own HCP on the round. If then each beat is played strategically, it should work with a beautiful round. Did not have to play one of the common Bunker in this way.

Palmer 5 stars, Faldo 4.5 stars

I have this summer, the two top places allowed to play and was especially thrilled by Palmer.

Place State:
Both perfectly. It's fun!

Course layout:

Faldo: A domestic links course that has it all. The many pot bunkers (on the fairway) are constantly in play, water, however rarely. The Faldo Course is supposed to be the hardest course in Germany, but I never felt it was unfair - somehow he must have "shown teeth" its charming. A good score stands or falls with the likely Avoid the fairway bunkers, because the cost otherwise always a hit separately. In conclusion it should be mentioned that I feel (as a man) Course for the ladies as very crisp, as the ladies tees (red) are never slightly shorter than that of men (yellow).

Palmer: A wunderschönder parkland course and no less difficult (a slope less point)! Is in my view wrongly always a little in the shadow of Faldo. Captures scenic first a little unspectacular, but increases continuously with beautiful tracks such example of the sensational 9 or 18! Because of the forest on the left and on the right is much in demand on the back-nine precision.

Gastro / Club House:
Very well maintained, friendly staff. Beautiful terrace overlooking the 18th green of the

Directions:
The resort is pretty far off the beaten path. Also the center of Berlin is sometimes loosely schedule one hours - is not time to do so quickly in passing...

Overall conclusion:
This can be very great golf!
110 EUR greenfee I find the Faldo but covered (may also be because I'm not a big fan of links), so this only 4.5 stars.
Palmer gets the full 5 stars, especially since his regular 80 EUR, Sunset fare of 40 EUR price is very attractive even! Here I definitely play at the next opportunity!

Lots of light - some shade

Have both mid-August as the Faldo played the Palmer Course.

Light: worth for my taste wonderfully designed spaces and because of the different characteristics ALWAYS a trip. Due to the relatively small number of club members to not have problems tee times.
Great and super fast greens!
Shadows: the long drought had already added the squares visible, but I was really upset to see that apparently no one has heard of resetting Divits. ... In other systems, there is a place for such cases Sheriff!

hence only 4 stars!

Overrated

During our visit there in May 2013 (hcp 24 and 18) we were really looking forward to this highly acclaimed, Europe supposedly best domestic links course and also at 110 € really expensive place.
Unfortunately, keeps the space is not what is promised as: compared to real links courses he cuts off badly. Monotonous fairways, known as pot bunkers are not, for they are but erher unfairly distributed. The discounts were not well maintained.
All in all, the place is not worth the money. Who wants to experience a great left-Course, BUDERSAND must play on Sylt (significantly cheaper). We would our golf-playing pleasures not recommend this place.

I have the luck to live nearby, which makes it possible to play here every now and then on all courses 3.5. Everyone has the opportunity to play here should be best time to register for 63-hole tournament, which is played at the summer solstice, (minimum 24 HCP) then you have played all the courses in one day.
The 3 times 18 holes are so different in nature that it would be a book to describe everything.

Top Resort near Berlin. The whole system is in perfect condition, friendly welcome. We played the Stan Eby Course in Flight 4 He. The condition of the course was perfect. Doe follow other places determined.

Here is all of it!

Faldo Course:
Hammer Hart. A true links course in the middle of Brandenburg. Very well maintained, very many pot bunkers, very difficult! Almost unfair.

Palmer Course:
Bursting the course at the resort. A dream oats parkland course in American style.

Eby Course:
A little off. Without trees. Nothing special. Rather boring.
