Your golfing journey is not complete until you have in played on our course, along the shores of False Bay. Whether you get to tangle with the famous South-Easter, or lose concentration at the beauty around you, this is a memorable experience.
The Simon's Town Golf Club was founded in 1913 and is the only 9 hole course on the Cape Peninsula. This links course has a rating of 62, and has views of the sea and mountains from every tee & green.
We are affiliated to the South African Golf Association (SAGA) and are a member of the Western Province Golf Union (WPGU).
One of the features of our course is small greens; the course may be short but greens can be difficult to hit. The course also has a natural slope towards the sea, and visitors do find this aspect interesting.
Member's competitions are held on Wednesdays & Saturdays, and affiliated visitors with an official handicap are welcome to enter.
"Chicken Run" competitions are held over 9 holes every Friday afternoon from 12 p.m. Pensioner's competitions takes place on Mondays and Fridays. Tee off is 8 a.m. in summer and 8:30 a.m. in winter. Visitors are welcome.

Shocking

As a old member of this club (Ian Coetzer) and and ex committee member and playing league for the club it is shocking to hear from my two sons that the course is in a shocking condition, And Dominic Coetzer got a hole in one on the 7th when he was 11. The Club still ask a rate of R 90 for scholars and students. It is advertised on the website that under 18's get a 70% discount however this is false advertising and not the case. The feedback i got is that you playing off sand and obviously nobody is looking after the course. The club advertise some percentages of for scholars and students but all 3 paid the same amount. Sorry guys it is heartbreaking but don't rip people of if your course is not worth the money to play on it. Get the course in a tip top condition as it was and then ask people the money. Hope that you guys will sort this out. Very sad to hear.

Been six times in as many years, yes course isnt that great, but you can play the challenging, especially with the usual southerly winds 9 hole course with pleasure.
Very reasonable fees with friendly staff and good basic food.

Simonstown, with its penguins, is on the way to the Cape of Good Hop. Rackets in the trunk and the 10 km drive with the option to play there if necessary.
The course isn't green. Clovelly is nearby, but it's as green as a jungle. Do the mountains block the water? It's completely barren. You'd have to tee up every ball on the fairway, wherever it is, it's impossible to tell. We just walked across it. The sea is stunning, like in the Seychelles.
The clubhouse is basic, good for locals. It's not a professional course, although a greenkeeper has been working on it. I play everything, but I'm still considering the Cape of Good Hope as a desert... No grass... no.
