Played in Nov 23 and the only good were the greens. Firm and fast…
The rest of the course was in a terrible state. There were only a fairway and no first or second cut, just roughs.

I played this course in the most dreadful weather conditions in January, with constant rain & fog, but it was one of the rounds I had most enjoyed ever.
The course is a true gem, built into the hills with a lot of imagination, setting up spectacular holes, with quite many shots over water or to island greens.

Of the 3 renowned places at Obidos (excluding Bom Sucesso), I like Ballestero's last work the best. You can find (almost) everything here: holes for long hitters (e.g. 2), strategic play on many holes, beautiful par 3s and occasionally nice views of the Obidos lagoon or the ocean. Space is always a challenge, you can also play with a ball ;) - It's also nice that the fallow areas are now all overgrown with bushes. Clubhouse could grow again, it used to be better before Corona!

As one of the top 3 courses in the Praia d'el Rey region, Royal Obidos is definitely fun to play.
