Opened in 2012, the 18-hole championship course Royal Óbidos is already one of the top 100 courses in Europe (ranked 82nd in Golf World Magazine's Top 100 Courses Continental Europe). The course, designed by "Seve" Ballesteros, is beautifully situated above the lagoon of Óbidos, and the medieval town Of Óbidos on the Silver Coast area. With a total length of 6,695m, the Royal Óbidos golf course is extremely versatile.

Played in Nov 23 and the only good were the greens. Firm and fast…
The rest of the course was in a terrible state. There were only a fairway and no first or second cut, just roughs.
These roughs swallowed everything, even if the ball was 20 cm next to the fairway.
Stopped out of anger after 9 holes.
By the way: moskitos, miskitos, miskitos

I played this course in the most dreadful weather conditions in January, with constant rain & fog, but it was one of the rounds I had most enjoyed ever.
The course is a true gem, built into the hills with a lot of imagination, setting up spectacular holes, with quite many shots over water or to island greens.
If you are around, a must play! Thanks Seve!

Played in March 2024. A must. Even though the course was a bit affected by the heavy rain. Slow and in places slightly softened fairways.
Still, I played with a lot of joy, Steve, you did well. If you're in the area, you have to stop by and play the course in memory of Ballesteros.
