The positive: The greens were good. They should put the rest of the course in blue, this is ONLY ground under repair, including the bunker. The bunkers had waste water in them and it smelled like rotten eggs. Good thing there were markings on the tee box, otherwise we would still be looking for the tees.
The layout is quite okay. The condition of the course looked as if it had to survive for decades without water (apart from the filled cement bunkers), but it was only completed two years ago. Recommending is not an option, disappointment is guaranteed.

We stayed here for 2 days on our tour of Italy. First the positive: hotel, spa, staff and location of the place are great. The place is tough despite the rain and irrigation. Some of the fairways play like a table tennis table. Efforts are being made to improve, but the ground is just too bad for grass. You almost always have to lay better. We stayed at the Hotel Riva Toscana Rolf and Spa in April 2022 after Easter. Hotel and place opened in September 2021. Everything is totally new and modern!
The course was redesigned in 2020 by the same golf course designer as the nearby renowned Punto Ala GC.
Lane 1-9 is very straight and easy. Tracks 10-18 are more interesting. The course is naturally embedded in a young olive grove directly on the coast with a beautiful view of the islands of Elba and Monte Cristo.
The place has 2-3 irrigation lakes. The place consists of a lot of clay soil and is quite stony and was still quite dry in the spring. Due to the new system, there are many areas that are not overgrown. We just put our ball on green areas to protect our clubs. The place was therefore still quite empty.
For us beginners it was pleasant to play without time pressure.
We wish the place that it continues to thrive. And as more experienced golfers, we look forward to coming back soon.
