Underground bad,, 09/26/23

The positive: The greens were good. They should put the rest of the course in blue, this is ONLY ground under repair, including the bunker. The bunkers had waste water in them and it smelled like rotten eggs. Good thing there were markings on the tee box, otherwise we would still be looking for the tees.
The layout is quite okay. The condition of the course looked as if it had to survive for decades without water (apart from the filled cement bunkers), but it was only completed two years ago. Recommending is not an option, disappointment is guaranteed.

Great facility, BUT…

Beautiful layout of the courses, top clubhouse, really nice views, very friendly staff, top greens BUT due to lack of water, catastrophic fairways and tees!! It's a shame, otherwise it would be 5 stars 😔

Ok, but not really good

We stayed here for 2 days on our tour of Italy. First the positive: hotel, spa, staff and location of the place are great. The place is tough despite the rain and irrigation. Some of the fairways play like a table tennis table. Efforts are being made to improve, but the ground is just too bad for grass. You almost always have to lay better. Otherwise it's nice up and down and you always have the sea in view. The price is right, so you don't have to be disappointed despite everything.

Rating includes hope for better fairways

The course is behind a new hotel and has fantastic views of the bay of Follonica, Elba and Corsica. The condition of the course has improved, tees and greens are fine. The fairways still have brown spots.
Interesting holes, some of which are long - par 4 often > 340 m and pair 5 > 500 m. It often goes up and down, which is also attractive for flat sand players.
Overall a beautiful, attractive place. And they also get the spots on the fairway closed. Until then, there is a discount on the green fee and everyone is informed of the condition by the staff. - As do not complain - Play!

Underground bad

If you plan a golf course, you should also assume that everything will be green when it opens. The layout and hotel are top only the condition, for whatever reason, are simply a disaster. If you already invested a lot of money you should at least be able to play golf on this golf course. I feel very sorry for the employees about my judgement. I have a handicap of 14 and play many golf courses but this golf course still needs at least 2 years. Good luck it would be a shame

It's not a golf course yet

A beautiful setting overlooking the sea, a beautiful design but for the moment it is not a golf course.
Clayey fairways not yet prepared and free of grass make the game impossible. Very slow but acceptable greens. In fact still a construction site, I don't understand how they can compete.

Hope for the future

The course and hotel opened in September 2021.
Hotel, reception, bar, showers, pro shop - absolutely top!
Design, layout & fairway absolutely perfect!!!
The views of the sea make the course a seaside course!!!
The staff (Greta) and the golf course manager (Gino) very, very nice...!
Supposedly the Italian water gets along with the Bermuda grass zero point zero and Gino veesicherte next spring the place is like a 1!

Can you believe that...?
Yellow weeds on the fairway! Greens, not so bad but way, way too slow!

I have never played on such a poorly maintained course!

Nice place for beginners

We stayed at the Hotel Riva Toscana Rolf and Spa in April 2022 after Easter. Hotel and place opened in September 2021. Everything is totally new and modern!

The course was redesigned in 2020 by the same golf course designer as the nearby renowned Punto Ala GC.

Lane 1-9 is very straight and easy. Tracks 10-18 are more interesting. The course is naturally embedded in a young olive grove directly on the coast with a beautiful view of the islands of Elba and Monte Cristo.

The place has 2-3 irrigation lakes. The place consists of a lot of clay soil and is quite stony and was still quite dry in the spring. Due to the new system, there are many areas that are not overgrown. We just put our ball on green areas to protect our clubs. The place was therefore still quite empty.

For us beginners it was pleasant to play without time pressure.

We wish the place that it continues to thrive. And as more experienced golfers, we look forward to coming back soon.

Don't play - guaranteed disappointment

Actually located in a beautiful landscape. Except for the greens, the course is in pittoyablem condition.
I agree with the assessment from the end of March.

New place, rocky fairways, hardly any grass

We played this course in March, canceled the round after 11 holes due to poor condition. The course is attractive in terms of landscape, but the great view of the sea and Elba in no way compensates for the condition of the fairways. These consist of hard, stony ground with little grass, furrowed grooves run through the lanes. The bunkers are filled with hard sand, like clay, and are rocky. The greens are good. It will take some time until this course is playable. At the moment it can only be played through better reading. I describe the system, except for the greens, as ground under repair. Actually, I should have asked for the green fee back, see it as an investment in the future of the place.
