The Rethmar Golf course designed by the Arnold Palmer Corp. is rated among the best in Germany. Situated in the middle of Lower Saxony, this dune course is a dream come true: On a terrain of 290 acres, a first-rate 18-hole golf course was set up. While each of the 18 holes has its own character, the lake, the dune, and the hill courses form a harmonic unit that is probably never to be found again in Germany.

Yes, it's a links course, and yes, the surroundings reflect that. You could describe it as barren, with windmills, power lines, and so on. The course is in excellent condition. The greens are moderately undulating. The bunkers have wonderfully playable sand. Unfortunately, some players trample through them without raking. The course is significantly more challenging than Gleidingen, as the fairways are roughly half as wide. Overall, it's a beautiful inland links course. The restaurant is also highly recommended. While the menu is small, the food is delicious.

We had a very windy day, which didn't necessarily make the course any easier, but it gave us a real left-hand feeling. The condition was good and we had a nice round. We were allowed to spend the night in our motorhome in the parking lot. The restaurant would actually have been closed that day, but since there was a small celebration going on, we were spontaneously allowed to choose from two dishes. Very good taste and huge portions for a very reasonable price. We were looked after very attentively by the boss. Thank you.
