Inaugurated in 1916 by King Alfonso XIII, the Real Golf Club de Zarauz holds the title of the oldest course in Spain remaining on its original site. Located directly on the beach along the Cantabrian Sea, this 9-hole links course offers a unique experience built entirely on sand dunes. While free of artificial water hazards, the ever-present sea breeze and natural rough provide a stern test. The historic atmosphere is complemented by excellent facilities, including a renowned restaurant serving local cuisine.

The links course should be played just because of its uniqueness, founded in 1917, making it one of the oldest courses in Spain. The age is evident in the layout and in the clubhouse. Unusual. The fairways sometimes cross, so that a starter and a flag signal are necessary to tee off. The fairways are sometimes narrow and long. The greens are small and fast. Beginners should stay on the beautiful club terrace and enjoy the excellent cuisine. With a view of the sea and the course. Unfortunately, the beach is no longer part of the course.
