Located in West Lothian, Pumpherston Golf Club offers a fascinating story of environmental regeneration alongside excellent golf. While the club dates back to 1895, the current course was unveiled in 2002 on the site of a reclaimed shale oil refinery, winning prestigious awards for its commitment to nature and wildlife. The 18-hole, Par 70 layout is known for its superb USGA-specification greens and strategic design. Although not excessively long at around 6,000 yards, water hazards demand precision over power. A true highlight is the signature 16th hole, 'The Cooler,' a short Par 4 where the green projects dangerously into a natural pond. The experience is completed by a modern clubhouse featuring sweeping views over the Almond Valley towards the Pentland Hills.
