Stunning course

Having played Princes Grant a few times, I know the course pretty well.
Playing from different tee's, a little wind and the course is like somewhere you have never played before.
Electric golf cart is recommended as the walk is a long and hilly walk.
Stay on the fairway.
The 6th is a short par 5, but surrounded with bunkers at the back and water at the front with the green sloping towards the water.
The 15th is a stunning hole.
Hope the wind is mild as a strong wind could cost you a lot of shots.
One of my favourite courses in SA and the best view from the 19th.
A must play!

Tricky mountain and valley golf

Until about July 2020, only 9 holes are open on this course (1-9). Since the holes are mostly not easy to play, it does not hurt to play the same holes twice. Definitely take a cart, because it goes up and down constantly and sometimes long distances have to be covered between the holes. You should also have enough balls in your bag, as the course with numerous water hazards and inclined positions 'swallows' many balls. The signage of the individual holes is practically non-existent, there is no information about the length, the specification, etc. Also in the cart there is no GPS, so you either have to have good eyesight or your own measuring device.

Definitely not for beginners.

Very nice place played on 24.1.2018 (Hdcp 12 + 13)

A place with beautifully landscaped but sometimes difficult tracks.

We played the Mensday tournament on Wednesdays and therefore paid only 38 € for 2 people incl. Cart.

The course 15 (par 5 downhill in the Indian Ocean) was one of the most beautiful tracks we have ever played in 30 years Would play the course again at any time.
Clubhouse outside and inside in Old-English style - a bit outdated but nice.
At the friendliness in the Pro Shop you can still work

Golf Round 5 BigEasy 02/14/2017

Course characteristics:
Part tight, very hilly, sometimes very strong wind influences. Beautiful situated at different levels in large distance from the other tracks.

Absolutely recommendable.

For this, a valuable historic clubhouse, with a magnificent terrace from which you can watch the great start on the 1 and 10 at the Sundowner.

Sea and forest - nicely varied

Played on 12/08/2016, HCP 12

First things first: Always take a cart, the way the green to the next tee feature "final frontier" right across the resort!

Nevertheless, just a very beautiful place - above all on the front nine always original, challenging layout. After three lanes then unfortunately sometimes two Füllnummer which strengthened on the back nine, but overall outweigh the "great" holes. It remains generally very varied - wide fairways alternate with rather narrow tracks, forest overlooking the sea and water obstacles with bunkers.

Although not a true links course (in the British sense) are many Bahne very susceptible to wind. And the blows usually quite strong, which makes the not anyway easy tracks even more difficult. The "short" par 3s are mostly quite crisp (narrow, highly elevated tees, water).
The abundant bunkers are also strategically placed - luckily filled with enough sand so that they are well playable.
Ensure continuous webs that also centrally placed balls from the fairway roll into the semi-rough, where it partly to difficult to find and are not simply keep playing - - In a few cases not entirely fair to the First Cut is a little too high!
Otherwise, the maintenance condition is quite good.

For "first offenders" certainly not a day of celebration for the score - please just enjoy the scenery - and the cute animal stock! The omnipresent to Durban monkeys, to herds of small forest antelopes (duikers) and many Europeans are exotic-looking birds.

Conclusion:. Knappe 4 stars, like to play more than once if you are in Durban and northern environment. (In "Golf Ranking Bear": 7 out of 10 points.)

Sensational

Played the end of October as a millionaire Course (lonely furrow).
Definitely a cart to take due to long distances and differences in height, green fee with cart per person. 35 EUR.
But you get a great golf course in the midst of a holiday village in the super care condition with spectacular lifts and in particular the second nine amazing views of the Indian Ocean and the beach. Definitely take when one is near!

Beautiful grounds

A very nice facility in a Estate! The differences in height are not to be underestimated, E-Car definitely recommended! Very varied, constantly up and down and on hole 15 arguably the best views of the Indian Ocean which one can enjoy on a golf course!
