Located on the scenic Solway Firth in Dumfries and Galloway, Powfoot Golf Club offers a distinctive blend of links and parkland golf. Founded in 1903 and extensively redesigned by the legendary James Braid in 1923, the course is often cited as one of Scotland’s best-kept secrets. The layout winds through gorse and whins, featuring sandy subsoil that ensures excellent playing conditions year-round. A unique historical feature is the 9th hole, where a World War II bomb crater remains as an 'unnatural hazard' on the fairway. With breathtaking views towards the Lakeland Hills, the course demands creativity and precision, particularly when the coastal breeze picks up. The welcoming clubhouse provides full catering and relaxation after the round.

Played this course several times last year and couldn’t get over the quality of the staff and the course. I travel 60 miles to play and have decided to join as it’s always in perfect nick and staff are always welcoming. A pure pleasure “ every time.
