Situated in the scenic "Orchard County" of Armagh, Portadown Golf Club offers a distinguished parkland experience rooted in history since 1900. Established at its current Carrickblacker site in 1934, the par-70 course winds through mature woodlands, presenting a test of precision where strategy often outweighs power. The layout is famous for its interaction with the River Bann, particularly on the 9th hole, where players must drive across the water, and the challenging 17th, a long par-5 that demands respect. History buffs will appreciate that the clubhouse was originally opened by Fred Daly, the 1947 Open Champion. After the round, the Riverside Restaurant provides a relaxing setting with sweeping views over the course, completing a classic Northern Irish golf outing.
