The main reason for our visit - we stayed at the resort - were two holes, hole 5 a par 5 right on the cliff (along the cliff), and the following par 3 with the most photographed tee in the Algarve. Not everyone wrote down their pars...

First of all: the 9-hole course along with the Academy/DR is located in a fairly large resort in the premium category. Very well-maintained facility with plenty of sports on offer (including a soccer field, tennis academy with sand and hard courts...). The DR includes a short range, chipping green with bunkers and a putting green. The ball basket with 45 balls in good quality is available for EUR 6.00. Otherwise there is no range fee. Everything isn't particularly big, but the quality is OK
The 9-hole course is rated BELOW AVERAGE! This means that most players are deducted 1 or even more strokes as a rule. So a HCP 12 players plays with 9 (18 holes) - on the first 9 holes with 4!
Played at the end of November 2023 in summer temperatures and moderate wind. Despite being very busy, the course was in very good condition - with the exception of the red teas. Slightly hilly with lots of pine trees and doglegs, you should place the drive well, otherwise the shot to the flag will be blocked by trees. Around the green, different types of grass (including Bent) make short play/dosage more difficult.
We found the tracks to be quite varied. Including a par 4 with 395 meters and hole 9 with 150 meters uphill and with a headwind during our visit (plays more like 170 meters). Often bunkers in front of the greens with lots of soft sand. In short: the white teas aren't exactly very long either; nevertheless, in our opinion, more difficult than it initially seems.
The course is very popular - especially with women compared to neighboring courses.
We paid EUR 27.00 p.p. for 9 holes in the low season with the "Golfamore" card (one-time 50% discount). A bargain for Algarve standards. It took us 1 hour 45 minutes to play 9 holes.
We had fun on the course and can definitely recommend a visit.

I played the course in June 2023 with my wife, both HC 30. Despite our medium HC, the course did not pose any particular challenge and we were able to underplay our HC by far. With the exception of the 6, there is no spectacular hole. But even this is overrated. Some of the holes are remarkably short. There was hardly any fun playing, and you could also hear loud music from the associated hotel grounds.
The condition of the place was great, there was nothing to complain about. Despite the heat, the fairways and greens were well maintained. The pro shop is definitely one of the better ones in the Algarve. Well equipped and very nice staff. The restaurant also met our expectations.
The driving range, on the other hand, is an impertinence and does not deserve its name. Warming up was almost impossible.
Overall, a mediocre place that only deserves its stars because of the maintenance condition and the pro shop and restaurant. Well suited for beginners, unfortunately disappointing for halfway ambitious golfers. The advertising of the course, which is omnipresent in the Algarve, promises much more than it delivers.

For New Year's Day 2020 there was a 9-hole round on Pine Cliffs - and honestly: there doesn't have to be more in this field. The lady at the golf counter looked annoyed when asked about tokens for the range or logo balls. The range itself was very short and downhill - maximum iron 5 went with me. In addition, a putting green marked "Ground under Repair".
The course itself presented itself with super-short tracks - after a reasonable drive - even from the rear tees - for me often just a wedge in the green.
The signature hole course 6 (was probably formerly course 9) across the cliffs was presented by white with a mere 125 m to the flag (105 carry) with a children's playground on the left, a soccer field behind the green and a hiking trail on the right - so please aim well.
The very slow game was striking - obviously many people with high handicaps (the group in front of us sometimes moved with 50-meter strokes), the greens full of pitch marks, the bunkers littered with footprints. Marshall, of course, none.
At least a very friendly gastronomy after the round was positive.
Conclusion: for me by far the worst place I have ever played at the Algave in the Algarve.

We stayed at the hotel and the price for hotel guests was € 37 (otherwise for 9 holes € 41). However, if you compare this with other golf courses in the vicinity with really long and sometimes spectacular tracks and prices around € 100 for 18 holes are those who prefer what the price resp. Performance against this 9 hole course concerns. If you're in the area it does not hurt to play a 9 round on the Pine Cliffs.
