Located in Brinsworth near Rotherham, Phoenix Golf Club offers a unique glimpse into the region's industrial heritage. Founded in 1932 by workers of the Steel, Peech & Tozer firm, it began as a volunteer project and evolved into a respected 18-hole parkland course. The current layout, finalized by architect C.K. Cotton in 1952, is known for being easy to walk yet strategically demanding. Golfers face a variety of challenges, from blind tee shots to the club's characteristic MacKenzie greens. A standout feature is the scenic par-3 situated near the stunning Halfway House. Off the course, the Phoenix Pavilion serves as a grand centerpiece with its Regency Lounge, maintaining the club’s long-standing reputation for a warm, friendly welcome and excellent social environment.
