Located in the heart of North Karelia, Outokummun Golfseura offers a truly distinct setting built within a historic mining environment. The 9-hole "Keretti" course was designed by American architect Ronald Fream, whose signature style is evident in the mounding surrounding the greens. The layout features generous fairways and receptive, albeit small, greens that challenge players of all levels. Playing amidst this industrial heritage combines sporting enjoyment with a fascinating glimpse into the region's past.

Beginner golf courses (Alkeiskurssit) start in June. The courses teach basic golf skills, rules, and include playing 4-6 holes on the course, followed by a written exam. The course is free for new members (adults 120€, juniors under 22 18€, students 70€). For non-members, the course costs 150€ for adults and 75€ for juniors/students. An additional 20€ fee applies for the Green Card test. Own clubs are not required. Minimum 4 participants. Registration via Caddiemaster (phone 013-555561, email [email protected]).
