Characteristics
Founded in 1899 within the historic grounds of the Old Deer Park of Lathom House, Ormskirk Golf Club offers a mature golfing experience on the famous Lancashire Golf Coast. Designed by the legendary Harold Hilton, the course has evolved from its heathland roots into a stunning tree-lined hybrid, though pockets of heather and gorse remain to test accuracy. The layout is relatively flat and easy-walking, yet strategically demanding, featuring a Par 70 setup that stretches over 6,500 yards. A unique historical feature is a hollow near the 16th hole, said to be a battery position for Cromwell’s forces in 1644. Visitors are welcomed as "members for the day," with the clubhouse terrace providing exceptional views for post-round relaxation.

What an absolute hidden gem this golf course is.
Having played a lot of amazing courses, this is up there with the best of them.
Stunning course, amazing club house and very helpful and friendly staff and members who we spoke with.
Would highly recommend this for your bucket list of courses to play.
