The Oporto Golf Club is a true links-course and its foundation traces back to 1890. The club is proud to preserve its tradition. The Skeffington Cup, which is held here annually since 1891, is the oldest golf tournament in the history of golf that is played without interruptions. The north wind is undoubtedly the greatest hazard.

Narrow fairways, constant wind

The oldest square in Portugal. Established 1890. Second oldest golf course in continental Europe. Old Clubhouse.
A links course (on the sea side) and relatively short. Parallel tracks. The narrow fairways and the constant north wind are the main difficulties. Between the beach and the railway line. But you can't really see the sea anywhere.
The place itself is pretty run down or you could also say natural. Pretty dry, looks unkempt.
No rough, almost no water. But a lot of bushes. Interesting holes #11, par 5 and #16, par 3.
There are also people running across the field who are looking for balls. Green fee: €55 incl. trolley.
