The club was named after The Öreg-tó (Old Lake) and is situated 64 km away from Budapest. The former hunting place used to belong to the family of the Duke Esterházy and is situated at the foot of the Gerecse-Mountains, surrounded by lakes and flowing waters, in a nature reserve. Besides the training are and the cosy club house they have here a over 200-year-old Esterhazy barn, which offers as event premises a special atmosphere.

Fast greens, wide fairways

My review is for the golf course not for the hotel. I had chance to play this course and it was interesting experience. Course is close to highway, but it has not big influenece. Like everything in Hungary its a bit difficult to get to course from hotel gate, no signs. Parking lot is a quite big and close to reception. I was surprised by warm welcome at reception and they let me play even they had tournament, so I jumped in front. I say it right away ratio price/ value is pretty good there and it improve the rating for sure. Birdie book is available at reception. I did not try the practice area since I did not have much time, but all is available even short par3 course. Course itself is pretty flat. All the holes are separated from each other with grown trees. Course has enough water so fairways are very juicy and green as well as greens, by the way they are quite fast. Fairways are wide and short, so you can easily score there. Design of the holes is not much interesting, however it is good place to have a quick round of golf. I would definetely come back some day.

Beautiful place and beautiful landscape

I played the course in the middle of summer and the grounds were in very good condition.
Fairways, greens juicy green despite heat.
The game play and the landscape is very nice, the difficulty I would have estimated medium.
At the beginning the fairways are narrow, lots of water, so bring some balls for safety.
The hotel guests and green fee players come together well.
The signage is expandable, otherwise everything was great. The price jump between weekday and weekend is high, but in general the prices are at a good level

May 2014

We played the end of May 2014 here and the only disturbing factor was the SOUNDS of the highway on some holes. The. Place was very well maintained, the greens perfectly! The staff were very friendly and made us defying internal club tournament allows the game. The site is located in a beautiful parkland surrounded by big trees, lots of water, very beautiful. Some holes near the highway, but ok. Paid pp we have converted 30 euro.
