Carnoustie feeling

For those unable to participate in the British Open, and for whom the journey is too far and too expensive, the "Carnoustie" tournament at Gut Häusern is available in early/mid-May 2026. Rock-hard fairways ensure long rolls, pitches become challenging, and shifting winds add excitement. If that sounds appealing, then this is the place to be.
The restaurant thankfully changed hands in 2026. The new, smartly dressed team is very dedicated and exceptionally friendly, the prices are more moderate than before, and the quality and freshness of the food is good. A visit is highly recommended.

This long, challenging championship course is currently in very good condition (last played on April 28,2025). Of all the courses at GC Eschenried eV, this is our favorite. The wide and long fairways provide plenty of enjoyment even for those who might be inconsistent in their long hitters. Water hazards, waste areas, plentiful bunkers, and large, undulating greens make the game extremely interesting. The course doesn't give you anything; you have to work hard to achieve a good score. The 18 memorable holes differ significantly from one another, which we really like. It certainly doesn't get boring here, and in the event of a strong (easterly) wind, your club selection should be carefully considered. We personally prefer Monday and Friday late afternoons when the greenkeepers have freshly mowed all the fairways and greens and no slow flights disrupt your flow. On sunny afternoons like these, the Gut Häusern Golf Park is a true dream.
Hole 19, the current restaurant, unfortunately can no longer keep pace. The unpretentious food and wine list has changed virtually nothing; only the prices have risen and are now at city level. Most people enjoy the course "purely" and hope for improvements in the culinary arts.
