Our award-winning, 18-hole golf course is carved out from 127 acres of an old sugar and coconut estate. Established in 1968, the course is set within a gently rolling countryside along Tobago’s northwest coastline, and features an abundance of towering coconut trees and breathtaking views of the sea from every hole. The course has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years, and has hosted Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf and the Johnnie Walker International Pro-Am. World Golf Awards voted Mount Irvine Bay Resort’s Golf Course the Best Golf Course in Tobago for 2015, 2016, and 2017.

I have visited this golf course a number of times. The club has had a few manager changes. You could see that on the pitch. For some managers the maintenance of the course (who also played golf) was important, for others it wasn't. Hence, these golf clubs had some high and low. Still, there is nothing better than playing golf under palm trees in the Caribbean. Some holes have a dream view of the sea.

The golf course was in poor condition when we stayed (Jan. 20). Mowing is poor. Some of the grass on the fairways was knee-high (holes 14.15). The rented golf clubs weren't worth the money. The buggies are badly maintained. The clubhouse neglected. Actually a shame because the hotel really likes it.
The facility has clearly seen better times. Action is urgently needed here.
