Mohansic Golf Course

Mohansic Golf Course opened for play July, 1925. The 7th hole is not original to the course. The green on the second hole was moved to the left 30 yards to make room for the widening of the Taconic State parkway. The course features sloped fairways, small area greens and many of the holes are boarderd by woods. The course is very challenging and the architecture is from a time when they made good use of the existing geography because you could only move so much dirt with a horse and a wagon.
Westchester county purchased the land from New York State for $1. A round of golf at Mohansic was. 50 cents in 1925.
