Characteristics
Near the fabulous city of Mainz, a vision came true. A 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, built in 2007, with spectacular scenery located in the middle of a former stone quarry. So different are the front 9 compared to the back 9 holes. Tied swath, narrow rocky ledges, high steep faces are guiding the game on the Canyon Course. On the Panorama Course your view will widen to the beautiful landscapes of Rheinhessen and the Rheingau, two wine regions geographically located left and right side of the Rhein river. In a unique kind of harmony, each fairway is perfectly integrated into the local landscape. Right here, a place has been created, which both stands for a sustainable, ecologically prestigious project as well as a true challenge for golfers at any playing level.
This extraordinary location offers to all golfers a contemporary model to live and experience their sport. Our Golf Academy services is very comprehensive for all golfers, which one would find normally in large Golf-Resorts. Starting with Newcomer trial course held each Sunday to the numerous opportunities, such as getting your Golf Licence (DGV Playing Permit) through to instruction courses for any level golfer. Mainzer Golfclub is a community of golf enthusiasts, who enjoy the great experience of Golf.

Good conditions in autumn

After several rain showers, the course was still in good playing condition at the beginning of November. There are always one or two wet holes. The greenkeepers were still busy mowing.
Club members were happy to let the game continue, making the round entertaining.

We haven't been here for a while, the design is still unusual due to the old quarry.
Unfortunately, the condition of the course was no longer good. Lots of weeds on the fairway, greens were unevenly fast and slow, and it was swarming with geese and, above all, their droppings.
When we asked at the office, they just said that it was just nature and there was nothing they could do about it...
On the way there were many groundskeepers busy with maintenance, but they didn't pay any attention to us, so we had to play over them or past them to the side, which was not pleasant.
Overall we were disappointed and won't be coming back.
