Every golfer can probably do well on makila.
The green fee (around €50 for 18 holes) is very moderate and significantly cheaper than on most other courses in the greater Biarritz area. a disadvantage is the very (too) comfortable playing audience.
the course is mostly wide, slightly wavy and pleasant to play. there are few obstacles (apart from sand). only 5 lanes can be described as hilly - something more is required.
The ambitious golfer is not challenged much on makila (slope 122). if you like it much more demanding and topographically more exciting, you are better off in seignosse or arcangues, for example.
the fairways were acceptably playable today (dry 2022 summer!). the greens were in good shape, are nicely undulated and roll well. bunker sand is good. Space lettering expandable.
from time to time you have a nice view of the pyrenees from the square, but this is often clouded by the noise of the nearby motorway.
the 19th hole entertains its guests at a relatively good level.

Has a nice club house. Very friendly welcome. For starting times, just call the day before or drop by. Something is always possible here too. The important thing is: it goes up and down. Therefore cart very useful. Makila was very deep on the day I played it because it had rained very hard in France before. Since this is not necessarily a dune site, this was a problem.
