Located just 10minutes from the sweeping Mediterranean beaches of the Costa del Sol and only 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.
Designed by the renowned Cabell Robinson, each 18-hole course has been created to ensure a testing, yet truly exhilarating experience.
The three 18-hole championship courses all offer a different challenge,
America Course: Campo America is enhanced by spectacular views to the Sierra de Ojén and Mediterranean Sea.
It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make this a slightly easier driving course, though the hilly topography requires a lot of carry across steep brush-covered side slopes. while the small raised greens demands more precise club selection to hit the mark.
There are water hazards on the 9th and 16th.
Asia Course: The spectacular Campo Asia has plenty of challenging holes, guaranteeing a testing round of golf which puts a premium on the approach shot.
The oldest of our three courses and the one most respected by the professionals, it is narrow and short, with four par 5 holes demanding skill and strategy.
Look out for the 10th with its classic design, and the 5th where the aim of your drive is especially critical. The 18th requires full concentration. Remember not to over-club off the tee or this lengthy par 5 could spoil your scorecard.
Europa Course: A dramatic course but easier for the average golfer, with generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens than Campo America and Asia. Notable for one main bridge and four smaller bridges across the River Ojén, which features in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There are four tunnels for golf carts.Water hazards guard the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 233 metres. The par 5 11th is the longest hole at 524 metres.

Places are interesting, but...

We played the three courses of the La Cala resort in January 2024-
First, the seats. The three courses all have different but very sophisticated and attractive designs. There are some blind holes, especially with Asia. But the course design is definitely exciting. Most of the pitches are overgrown with trees and palm trees. Aisa is a bit shorter, hillier and narrower fairways, America with wide fairways and sometimes a lot of space for the drive, Europe something to think about while playing.
Tees and greens different on every course. The practice green doesn't always help. The condition of the greens and the tees are not great everywhere. But overall a golf resort with 3 courses, as you would wish.
The practice facilities: The driving range can apparently be reached with a shuttle service. It starts at 9:00 or later. So unfortunately lost. Chipping green: There is somewhere, but no parking space for the necessary buggy. Putting Green: Right next to the buggy exit. Pleasantly large, but unfortunately different in terms of speed than the real greens.
Regarding the buggy issue: If you say please please nicely, you might get the buggy so that you can load the equipment directly from the car onto the buggy. Quite a bit of chaos when it comes to distribution and it's regulated in such a way that you can't drive to the driving range under any circumstances.
About the view: A huge resort area, with always new construction sites. The terrain, the mountains are brown, the fairway is green...
Despite everything, we liked it here. Even if we didn't feel like we were being treated pleasantly. The view from the terrace is fantastic.

Asia, bad greens and tees sometimes just sand

We played the golf course on 03/09/2023.
Right on the first green we were surprised at the poor quality of the green.
It had the impression that the greens were recreated in late last year. Normal green fee of 115 € is not in order with this bad condition of the golf course.
Some of the tees are also in poor condition, some tee boxes consist of more sand than grass can be found on it!

The maintenance of our three 18-hole championship courses is of utmost importance as we aim to deliver an optimum experience for our golfers. During cooler periods of the year, the growth of our Bermuda grass slows down as part of its normal characteristic, and it regains its vitality and growth in warmer temperatures. Europe Very dry in February

We played the Europa course on February 22nd, the design is what it is, for me the other two courses are more beautiful in terms of design, which was very noticeable, the course is incredibly dry even at this time of year, the greens are interspersed with many different grasses. The Greene of 105€ is too high for that.
We didn't play the other two places on this trip.

In relation to our greens, because our Bermuda grass becomes dormant during the winter months, our golf maintenance teams continue to treat our greens in the best way possible, however we are dependent on the normal growth characteristics of our Bermuda grass. Hopefully we will see some warmer weather in the coming months so that our greens can begin to grow again and provide optimum playing conditions for our players.
