Have played the course today with a pleasant "Indian Summer" weather with beautiful foliage discoloration. Moderate to easy course for all HCP classes, surrounded by busy highways with very high noise levels. The 9 lanes / greens are still nicely laid out with some hills and well maintained, even after the long dry period in the summer half of 2018. Clubhouse and sanitary facilities are absolutely OK, as well as the very friendly reception and service in the clubhouse. Green fee with 40 € for 9 lanes but relatively high. Recommended and absolutely worth playing the sophisticated practice site with dense trees (short but almost more spectacular tracks than on the main square). Overall, worthwhile city facility, which does not seem so busy.

Fantastic 9 hole parkland course in the heart of Cologne

I played today for the first time in Marienburger Golf Club in Cologne. This is not far from the center of Cologne and is easy to reach by car. The clubhouse, as well as the practice area were excellent. Especially the putting green overlooking the green of hole 9, the terrace of the clubhouse and the tee of hole 1 was in perfect condition and invited to train.
The course (9 holes) is a typical parkland course as one would expect him only in England: gorgeous old trees, well placed bunkers and especially perfect and directional stability greens. Overall, the system is in a really absolutely superb condition. Highlights for me were the 4, a 145m long par 3 and 9, a 403m long par 4 with a great finish. There will certainly be people who do not like the proximity to the highway, which can be clearly heard on many holes. However, I am one of those people who instead focus on playing golf and can be easily carried away by the great Parkland atmosphere and hide the whole. Value for money I found completely ok. Since you pay for 9 holes in other Cologne clubs similar prices or even more and get much less for your money.
For me, in and around Cologne far the best course with the clearly best care condition. The only two courses of which I expect something similar, but have not played are Gut Larchenhof and Cologne Golf and Country Club.
Start times are not so easy to get, but who simply want to play an old, perfectly manicured and fantastically beautiful parkland course in Cologne, which should it not be deterred and come.
