Characteristics

Over the past 15 years we have gone from 450 to 1100 members. This alone tells the story of how the course and facilities have improved. Knysna is a flat Parkland course set at sea level with fairways that meander between tidal pools and indigenous trees. With some of the best bent grass greens in the Southern Cape this course provides all levels of players with a good challenge.

On the 13th January 2010 the clubhouse burnt to the ground and 15 months later we moved into a modern and practical facility. A clubhouse which will once again help in improving the experience of all who visit Knysna Golf Club.

So if ever you are in the Knysna area please come and enjoy our hospitality.

Remember if you have not played Knysna you have not played the Southern Cape.

easy, very affordable golf

it's a well kept but flat like a pan course.
rather a 2,5* than a 3*, but they are doing a good job considered the drought circumstances. obstacles are the countless scattered big trees. the greens are undulated, so there is a also bit of challenge. it's not boring to play at all and for the very decent green fee worthwile, if you look for an easy going stroll.
nice clubhouse, good facilities, friendly.

Bird paradise

Addendum/ The caddies who approach you in the parking lot get 350 Rand cash for 18 holes. There are 32 of them! and they look like they desperately need the money. So I took one instead. It feels strange at first, colonial. But walking freely through the bird sanctuary with its African flair, without having to check the balls myself, was relaxing. I used to think the course was too swampy. But now part of the natural ebb and flow system is saltwater. €31 No Caddy required. Caddy €18
