Relaxed golfing in the zoo

Played in early July 2023, HCP 15

A wonderfully quiet, classic parkland course, almost a zoo. Large herds of deer (probably dam deer) graze freely on the course, they come within a few meters of the players and sometimes trot across the putting green right in front of the terrace. Very original!

The terrain is mostly flat, there are no carts, but they are not needed.

The course is pretty easy to play. Very wide fairways, rough is thin enough to be able to find and play balls well if one should get lost there. There are hardly any water hazards, and if there are, then only on the sides. The bunkers aren't particularly scary either and can easily be taken out of the game. Tricky, on the other hand, are the lightning-fast and sometimes extremely undulating greens. They are fun, also because of the first-class maintenance condition. It's not quite as good on the fairways, but still acceptable. At almost 5,400m from the regular yellow tees, it's also not overly long (but only PAR 70).

Conclusion: No golfing highlight, if you are looking for a serious sporting challenge, you are in the wrong place here. However, if you want to do a completely relaxed lap, you've come to the right place. Very gladly again - very good 3 stars. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 6 out of 10 points.)
