Characteristics
Kingussie Golf Club offers a historic golfing experience in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Established in 1891, the course is a unique collaboration between two legends: Old Tom Morris laid out the original nine, while Harry Vardon expanded it to 18 holes in 1908. Situated within the Cairngorms National Park, the course plays over undulating upland terrain with the River Gynack coming into play. Though not overly long at Par 67, it demands precision. The clubhouse offers stunning panoramic views, perfect for relaxing after a round in this scenic isolation.

Spectaculair and testing!
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 9, 2013
Hidden in the highlands of Scotland, this is what the Scottish call themselves 'a hidden gem'. Translated: a hidden treasure. An old highland village, a lovely clubhouse with traditional red interior, and a course to fall in love with.
Testing holes, lot of difference in hights, heather, rocks, little streams crossing the holes, and beautiful views all around. Kingussie is a course that will win every golfer with it''s charmes. It's not for nothing that we came in twice form Holland to play this course. And after the great 18th there's always the Scottish hospitality in the 19th...!

A very beautiful and well-maintained course with varied holes. The club's emblem (the capercaillie) can often be found alive on the course, which provides surprises for both players and spectators.
Definitely worth a visit.

Hidden Gem
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed October 3, 2021
This is what the British call a "hidden gem". The course may not have much in common with modern golf courses including a driving range, wide fairways, etc., but the sport emerged on courses like Kingussie - and that has something. When you are around, watch and play and seek contact with the locals during or after the round.
