Characteristics
In a rural environment with firs, spruces and birches it turns out difficult to concentrat on the golfing. You shouldn't let the water hazards discourage you, the course can also be managed by beginner. The playing to the widespread and subtle greens precision is needed. Golf Le Kempferhof – beautiful, tricky and quite wet…all in all, quite okay.

The Le Kempferhof golf course is definitely an experience – albeit one where you usually end up with fewer golf balls than you started with. The course is idyllically situated in the Rhine meadows near Strasbourg and is known for its many water hazards and beautiful natural scenery.
The round was really fun. The course is varied, constantly offering new views and requiring thought on almost every hole. Precise play is essential, as water, bunkers, and sometimes narrow fairways are just waiting to swallow your ball.
One hole in particular stands out in the memory: a 155-meter carry over water. According to other players, this very hole is also a bit of a nightmare for higher handicappers – the ball really has to fly, otherwise it ends up in the water.
What I liked:
• Very varied layout with lots of water
• Beautiful nature and peaceful atmosphere
• Some truly spectacular holes
The condition of the course was somewhat mixed. Some fairways and greens were in excellent condition, while others looked a bit tired. This aligns with other reviews: some praise perfect greens and fairways, while others complain that bunkers or pitch marks are not always optimally maintained.
Conclusion:
The course is fun, varied, and definitely worth a visit – but for me, it's more of a solid mid-range course compared to others I've played. Anyone who loves water hazards (or wants to practice losing balls) will be happy here.

The two of us, both handicap 12, played around noon on August 2,2025, after a heavy downpour. The course was in perfect condition. The large, snow-white bunkers are reminiscent of southern golf. Due to renovations to the clubhouse and hotel, the fairways have been re-routed. The signage at the greens is exemplary, directing you directly to the nearest tee. The driving range is a bit more inconvenient, about a 10-minute walk from the first tee. Therefore, we used the practice nets at the temporary facility. Guests will not have showers until the new facility is completed. Nevertheless, we recommend the course.

There was no sign of any construction work in the last week of August.
The course is exceptionally beautiful with lush vegetation, perfect greens and fairways. Very varied layout with lots of water is fun.
A dropping zone would be helpful on hole 15 (155 m carry over water). The "detour" via tee 16 can also lead to a par, but only with a lot of luck 😉!
