Characteristics
Initiated by Gávea Golf Club caddies in one of the poorest boroughs of Rio de Janeiro State, Japeri Golf Links is the first truly public golf course in Brazil and counts on financial support from the R&A , local companies and private benefactors. Japeri Golf School assists almost a hundred children in the area, teaching them not only golf, but also citizenship. Prices are the most competitive in the country – the cost of a green fee is less than US$ 25.
