Characteristics
The fairways of the course are mostly wavey and possess several water and sandy hazards. What particularly distinguishes this course is the breathtaking beauty of the landscape: the 18 emerald green holes seem to be caught in the black of the lava hills. The most difficult hole is the eleventh, a narrow, 387 m long par 4 with water on the right side and an out on the left side of the fairway.

Scenic Golf by the Etna

I played on 27 December, a cold sunny day under the snowed Etna. The experience was rewarding - a fantastic round of golf almost alone on the course, except towards the end when we hit traffic. Their landlines were out of order, so I had to take a chance and drive to the resort without a tee time and pay cash, 80 Euros for the green fee and 40 Euros for the cart. They accommodated me very easily. The drive from Taormina, some 45 minutes, is a nerve-wrecking chicken game when you cross trucks and other cars through the narrow streets of the villages on the road to Castiglione. But all, the price, the drive and the risk were really worth it! The course is well appointed, with demanding tee shots that require accuracy with the driver. Several holes are scenic and exciting. The course is balanced and makes for a fun experience amidst olive and lemon trees, old farmhouse stone fences, and black volcanic sand. All the way, the towering white Etna presides over your game. Unforgettable!

We played here for the first time today (September 30,2025). We walked with a pull trolley, which worked well as the temperature was moderate. I wouldn't say it was slightly hilly; more mountainous, with great tee shots downhill, but strenuous climbs uphill. The greens were playable, but unfortunately the tee shots and fairway were very worn. We were a bit helpless in places, as we had to deal with (too) many blind shots in extremely tight hitting zones. So forget about a good score if this is your first time playing here. What helps is the shortness of the fairways. Even the first green on the first hole is (almost) reachable with a good drive.
We paid €110 for two green fees with Golfamore, which is fine. The nice lady at reception was helpful, friendly, and gave us a pleasant welcome.
A must for golfers on holiday in Sicily (!)
