Characteristics

Founded in 1895, The Halifax Golf Club presents a classic moorland challenge set against the dramatic backdrop of the Pennine hills. Famous architects James Braid and Dr. Alister MacKenzie influenced this rugged layout, which demands precision over raw power. The course is renowned for its elevation changes, particularly the signature 17th hole with its spectacular 60-foot drop. Natural streams and heather frame the fairways, while the historic clubhouse offers a welcoming retreat with panoramic views and excellent dining.

What a brilliant golf course

Halifax Golf course has been voted number 20 in Yorkshire on the best 100 golf courses of the world web site, I am not surprised it is outstanding. I play off a 20 handicap and just found it a pure joy.
Even if you are having a bad day at golf just look at the incredible views and your cheered up immediately.
Highly recommended if you enjoy playing golf.

Halifax Golf club

Despite the clear arrogance the previous reviewer talks sense. Not only the better player will love here, off a lowly mid 20's handicap I also enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommended and reasonably priced for visitors.

Round of golf

The course is moorland with fast tight links type fairways. Greens are very good. Halifax is a good test of golf and the better player will love it. The 17th hole is amazing.
