I recently had the absolute pleasure of golfing in one of the most stunning locations imaginable—at the bottom of the Austrian Alps. From the moment we arrived, the scenery took my breath away. The warm-up on the driving range was an experience in itself, with sweeping, panoramic views of the majestic Alps. It’s hard to find a more inspiring backdrop while perfecting your swing!
Once warmed up, my colleague and I played the front 9 holes on a course that was both beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed. Each hole felt like a unique adventure, blending seamlessly into the natural beauty of the landscape. The course was challenging yet fair, with a perfect balance of lush fairways and strategically placed hazards. But honestly, it was the combination of the fresh mountain air, the quiet tranquility, and the jaw-dropping views that made this round of golf unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
If you’re a golf enthusiast and find yourself anywhere near Villach, this place is an absolute must. It’s not just golf; it’s a retreat into nature with a side of golf. Highly recommended!

We spent eleven days at this beautiful place, and this was our second visit. The overall ambiance and the terrace are fantastic, a far cry from everyday life, pure relaxation! The food was consistently excellent every time; the homemade cakes were simply in a class of their own. Thanks to Mario and his kitchen team! Bruni and Andi are fantastic hosts, and the young service team is also very motivated, courteous, and friendly. We really liked how nicely, neatly, and smartly dressed the young staff were – Bruni and Andi live it up – which completes the already great ambiance! It's not always important that the service is textbook perfect; what matters more is friendliness, a friendly smile, and making you feel welcome as a guest. The restaurant also enjoys many visitors who don't play golf themselves. Bruni, Andi, and Mario have made a name for themselves beyond the golfing community; this doesn't happen overnight, but through hard work. Culinary delights, ambiance, and nature at their finest – heartfelt thanks to the entire team! Suites: The suites are spacious and feature a modern, airy design. Golf course: One of the most beautiful and well-maintained golf courses; the surroundings are simply stunning! The greenkeepers do a fantastic job; simply top-notch from start to finish. Despite the persistent heat in August, the course was in very good condition. The first 15 holes differ practically only in the PAR number. But from hole 16 onwards, things really get going. The best of all is the "19th hole"! The whole package in the restaurant is just perfect. Very good food, extremely friendly service, moderate prices (for this quality) and the great panoramic mountain view invite you to linger. The suites could certainly do with air conditioning in August, but the monument protection does not allow this.
