One of the oldest golf courses of Austria is situated in the middle of green hills, framed by mountainous creeks and ponds in a very interesting landscape with an old stock of trees. The deep blue glittering lakes with theit densely grown shored, the heights and depths of this widespread course and some slopes demand a precise game. The always returning panoramic view provide quietude and relaxation.

Great golf, right in the heart of the Salzkammergut

I was a member of the Salzkammergut Golf Club (Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang) until 2021. A fantastic course, mature trees, friendly people, good food, breathtaking views, and the most beautiful scenery I know in Austria. A top-notch golf campus run by Franz Laimer.
Tip: After the game, take a dip in Lake Wolfgang or the Ischl River and relax. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious drink at the k+k Hofbeisl in Bad Ischl ;-)

I can't agree with g&c's one-star rating, but the course maintenance was considerably better.
The tee boxes are in dire need of renovation, the fairways have numerous bare patches, and the extremely slow greens are a major drawback. Green speed and tracking are what distinguish top golf courses, and this course is currently far from that—unfortunately!
I'm also excited about the new club building. Only about 40 seats inside seems extremely limited to me. How are they going to host larger tournaments there?

I like this course too. I've been coming here as a guest for years. I also played at the ÖMM in May on perfectly maintained greens with beautiful greens. But last week (July 5th) we were incredibly disappointed. From chopped-up T boxes to fairways covered in grass and clover, to unplayable, poorly maintained greens. It was a truly frustrating golf experience. It's a shame, because things could be better, like at the ÖMM in May. We weren't even informed of this when paying the green fee. We'd love to come back, but only when the course is back in playable condition.
