Excellent Venue

A great resort, with fantastic facilities. Recommend the restaurant post round. The course looked in great condition considering we played late March/early april.

Exclusive, expensive, but you get the quality you pay for.

...is one of our favourites...

...in a 50 km radius around Munich, we have 10 clubs on the list, this one is in the top 5! He is also listed in the top 100 list Germany in the first third, rightly so we believe.

A great golf course with a clubhouse facility in Hofgut character.

Everything the player wants is there, even the ball pyramid on the range is not missing.

Heinz Fehring - Bernhard Langer's first golf teacher - drew the plans and paved the way for this golf course with several people.

This course is not quite flat, surrounded by a lot of forest and cultivated land. Despite the moderate terrain transitions, it is easy to play on foot.

The course is varied and exciting.

In terms of play, we count this course among the more demanding in the south of Munich, although the really long par 4 and par 3 are not that numerous. The ponds and the fairway bunkers, some of which are very well placed, as well as the terrain are responsible for this. Another player has counted the bunkers, there are over 80. He has made friends with the green bunkers on nine holes. In fact the greens are very heavily defended. The sand is very easy to play with - very fine - but has the disadvantage that a solid footing is hardly possible if you have too much under your feet.

On the front nine, holes 3,4 and 6 are the best, followed by holes 13,14 and 16 with the narrow green access to the back nine.

We played our first round here about 10 years ago, still on the old greens. They completely rebuilt it a few years ago. We really liked them, played great with good speed.

This facility also has to suffer from the drought, is visible on the edges, the play area is great!

Two of us had to dig into our pockets several times and deposited a few balls, but it was still a great, relaxed round.

We received a very good birdie book and are still among the "oldies" who play without electronic aids.

On the 19the we have nothing to complain about!

Very nice courteous staff - also applies to the members.

Five stars from all of us.

Varied and well maintained

The Munich area is richly gifted with really good golf courses. I agree with Tito's assessment that the GC Riedhof golf course is in the upper midfield and is always worth a visit.

The first tee is played over a valley onto a steep fairway and fears are raised that it is a strenuous rollercoaster ride. But this concern is unjustified, because there are only two or three holes that require a climb. Overall the course is flat and easy to walk on. The Riedhof does not have any parallel tracks. The facility is extensive and no track resembles another. Mr. Fehring has delivered a very varied and interesting layout here.
The condition of the fairways and greens was great and the latter are often very large, which I really liked. There is a halfway hut on the 10th green/11th. Tee, you only come back to the clubhouse briefly after the 15 before you tackle the last three holes.

The Clubgastro has room for improvement in terms of food and service. One expects a bit more from the "Riedhof overall package". The food was ok but nothing to remember. The service from the waiters was a little confused. None of the accounts for a member of our group were completely correct.

110 euros green fee - and unnecessarily 20% more for VcG players (!) - are quite self-confident. As already mentioned, the density of very good golf courses within a radius of 30/40 kilometers is enormous and you can play on similarly good courses for as little as 70/80 euros.

In the upper midfield of the region

Very beautiful and very well maintained golf course in the south of Munich.
The place doesn't really let you complain in any way, a great layout, very good place condition and good greens.

However, it has one of the most expensive green fees in the region and does not really stand out from the very high standard in the region.

If you want variety and have the time or the wherewithal to spare, it's definitely worth a trip.

TOP again 3 years later

After 3 years I went back to the Riedhof this weekend and my rating from 2018 has basically not changed.

As far as I can remember, a lot was done.

The range has new “targets” that can be played.
Lane 1 got two additional fairway bunkers on the left. The long hitters have shortened too often.
Lane 2, the water hazard has been changed and looks a bit “threatening” with the wall edge when the flag is briefly on the right. Therefore, it is better to play in the middle of the green and putt a few meters back if you are unsure of your lengths.
Hole 10 probably also got two additional bunkers in the fairway on the right.

Generally:
Condition of the range with the ball pyramids is perfect.

Chipping and putting green very well maintained. Fast, but very playable, ie not too fast.

To play the lanes in detail great. Every now and then it is better to leave the driver in place in order to land safely on the track and not in the obstacle (e.g. track 4,10,12,15,16,18, if you have a certain length with iron or hybrid)

Restaurant great.

Service at the counter top. Mrs. Braun knows how to greet you in a friendly and funny way. You feel right at home.

Daily conclusion:
I had a tournament with continuous rain and little space on the pitch where there was no temporary water (laughs), but that didn't detract from the experience of playing this pitch.
Many thanks also to the “starter” of the tournament, who always sends you on a journey across the 18 lanes with a funny saying.

Top!

I played the Riedhof golf course for the first time Even the driveway was an experience The welcome in the office and in the golf shop was very friendly The course was very well maintained The whole concept of a private club very convincing The course not easy to play when you play the first time The only one What didn’t convince me about the staff was the gastronomy. Somewhat very unmotivated. Absolutely doesn’t fit the overall impression. If I didn’t have a 50 minute journey I would become a member there

Probably the best in the south of Munich

A great golf course, probably the best in the south of Munich.
Great layout, varied and, if you know it, also demanding in terms of length.

The greens are in excellent condition and always well but fairly defended by bunkers.

Really good training opportunities before the round.

This golf course has everything that is desirable for a sporty player, just not an overly sporty orientation.

Very expensive at 110 euros, so I would recommend the 70 euros green fee on Monday.
In terms of price / performance, you can't play a course that is anywhere near as good for 70 euros.

Top grounds - always worth a visit

We were in mid-September at the Riedhof and are still thrilled.

From the very friendly welcome, the excellent condition of the practice facility as well as the permanently filled ball pyramids on the range addition, presented the plant in mid-September (despite continuous rain at night) in excellent condition.

Darting greens. With very well-kept bunkers and super fairways with first and second cut, the course is as demanding, but for everyone feasible to call.
Scenic an experience and completely from street noise (or high voltage lines, such as in Eichenried) you can enjoy every meter of the outstanding 18 hole.

For me personally, a really great facility just outside Munich, whose use has its price, but in relation to other facilities around the city is definitely worth its price.

Too bad that only members or guests of members can play there on the weekend, but when we are back on site, a detour to the Riedhof is definitely planned.

Conclusion:
A "must play" if you want to play a nice round of golf in the area south of Munich.

Great facility - with the best of Munich

I can not understand the reviews of some here. The course is in a first class condition, well maintained and above all very varied. I'm interested in 95% of a golf club as the course is designed and maintained. Incomprehensible as some other commentators put so much emphasis on things like the restaurant, secretary, etc.
I can only recommend to everyone this place to play, if you get the opportunity. Just on Mondays, the green fee is fair at 70 €.

Sensational

After playing last September, I wanted to test the new greens this time. Sensational, how the place presents itself. So I can confirm my last review to 100%. This resort is always worth a visit!

One of the best!

I was last in September, just before the greens because of the conversion (for me, somewhat surprising because they were really in top condition) were closed there. Friendly welcome, top practice area for warming and an unbeatable place. There is obviously very little going on, so you can play your round very relaxed. Great nature experience even more, due to the old tree population, the topography and no noise pollution by cars or similar. I'm curious how good the new greens will be at the opening in the spring. Obviously, a lot has been invested in the system.
I'm looking forward to my next round there and can only recommend the plant!

Development under new management

Games for around 4 years from time to time on the Riedhof, and some time ago there was probably a change in management. Unfortunately, the site has since become not forward but backward.

- The small practice area is an eternal construction site
- Right in the middle of summer, tee mats (Why is there grass)?
- Condescending dealing with guests (hey we pay when it comes to the Riedhof without guests good enough, then just stop "members only")
- The place is indeed maintained excellently, but you can never play without a game, apparently is the visibility of the system (Image video was created) to the gaming experience of the guests (and even members complain that the example actually on any day week in the morning to play a round at 06:30 undisturbed, except for the weekend)
+ Which can make up for the friendly Secretariat MCHT

Conclusion: Well meant the opposite of being well done. Will my green fee payable elsewhere.

Disappointing

The expectations were high and were not met. The staff seemed friendly, but nevertheless showed that green fee guests are rather undesirable. There are far better addresses in the Munich area.

Wellness for the soul Golf

There are golf courses and there are the Riedhof.
I have never been treated as a guest so friendly and professional on a plant. Services in the Riedhof are designed right down to the smallest detail and consistently implemented.

- Secretariat extremely friendly and helpful
- Dressing well maintained
- Driving Range Top maintained, balls are ready to free ball pyramids
- The place is very varied. The free Birdiebook or a connoisseur of the place is very helpful.
- The greens are extremely fast even in wet weather.
- The maintenance of the place is outstanding!
- The restaurant's equipment and food quality at a high level with very good PLV.
- The pro shop has more selection than some online store and is not too expensive but the service is, like so much on Riedhof, again excellent.

Too bad that allows guests to "only" four times a year, but as with all beautiful things in life such as golf days should remain in memory consumption experience

One of the most beautiful

I do not know if the size of a restaurant... I think it's not even big... well then, if that is a factor, then it's probably not meant to be with the satisfaction. I am not a member Riedhof, but for me it's always a pleasure when I can play there:

- The place has a beautiful 1
- He is demanding.
- The Greenkeeper understand their craft. It is always a delight to walk across the tracks.
- Reception / Secretariat tried every - but really everyone - wish to meet.
- The pro shop is professionally - it's fun to shop there and it was just a minor thing.
- The Golf Academy has a professional appearance.
- The driving range and also the location of the driving range (short walk to the 1st tee) has no equal.
- The rest, which is above the entire system is simply gorgeous.

Actually Olli Kahn would only smile once off the tee ... .

Full marks, gladly again, congratulations.

Overrated

As the Northern Lights to me the place was recommended by some golfers so that when I last visit to Munich I undertook a round of golf. However, I must say that I was disappointed with the many recommendations. Starting in my opinion is uncomfortably large and poorly decorated the Club Secretariat, which provided information very rude and also the club restaurant. On the driving range, the dogs have disturbed me, which are taken from owners here. The place itself was very nice, but today is just more of a good golf course.

Golf and relaxation at the highest level

The course of the GC invites you to Munich Riedhof stunningly beautiful golf rounds. Qulitativ the plant is one of the best investments I know in Germany. Well worth a visit!

Also, all non-golfers can enjoy the beautiful ambience of uniquely located club terrace with a delicious meal.
