Characteristics

Situated directly outside the Saxon capital at a distance of 7.5 miles from the Zwinger and the Semper Opera House, this course was set up on gently-sloped hills above the Elbe valley and is framed by woodlands. Its 18 holes claim the full concentration of even the most seasoned golfer. A special treat are holes 12 to 15 running straight through the Poisenwald forest, which once was in royal hands.

Interesting shape

For long time this course was on my bucket list, due the reason that its close to my home and that its part of Leadingcourses portfolio. Entering course you will see the history buildings. Right away from parking lot you are at practice areas and club house. All very close. Ther is quite a lot of space fro practice. Checking in pro shop is a bit difficult if you not speak German, but they try to help you. I appreciated a birdie card as gift and green fee on Monday is just correct price for the course. Course itself is located in small valley close to the forrest. All the holes are nicely shaped with lot of blind shots, where you might lose stroke if you do not know course so play really conservative in first time. There is a lot of opportunity to score, especially in summer, because the fairways were really dry and quite hard. Their condition was nothing special. Greens were good, they just aerificated them and put some sand on. Suprisingly course is a bit noisy, since the roads are nearby. Signature holes I would say are 10,11,12,13 obviously I prefer back nine over front nine. Weakest point would be for me that you cannot get anything to eat or drink on Monday, which is a bit dissapointing taking in account that I came some distance to play there.

Great golf course – disappointing service in the club restaurant

Played an 18-hole round on June 25,2026. Despite the intense heat (around 38°C), we thoroughly enjoyed the golf club. The course is varied, well-maintained, and a lot of fun to play. The staff in the office were also exceptionally friendly, competent, and helpful.

Unfortunately, the overall positive impression was significantly marred by the visit to the club restaurant.

After our round, we wanted to eat on the sun terrace. All the tables were marked as reserved. When we inquired, the restaurant manager explained in a rather unfriendly tone that all the tables were reserved for guests. Our point that there were only a few players on the course and that numerous tables would obviously remain unused for some time did nothing to change this. The explanation given was that the seat cushions needed to dry after being used by previous guests, and therefore all the tables were reserved well in advance of the next guests' arrival. When I asked whether green fee players weren't considered guests, we received no answer.

Unfortunately, we had already observed a similar situation the previous day. A foursome was only given a small table (approx. 80 x 80 cm). Their request for a second table was refused with the explanation that all other tables were reserved. However, as the afternoon progressed, it became clear that none of these reserved tables were actually being used.

It's a shame, because the golf course itself is truly recommendable. With more service-oriented management in the clubhouse restaurant, the experience would live up to the high standard of the golf course.

Nice with good restaurant

Super place condition (fast greens, short fairways), interesting design. Only the bunkers were different, sometimes more sand sometimes less. Good food after the round in the restaurant!
