We stopped in Moyland on a golf camper tour and played two rounds. The course was in excellent condition, but it certainly has a few pitfalls.

I played the course on 8/11/22, in the middle of the dry period. But the course was in good condition, some brown spots can't be avoided at the moment, but most of the fairway was playable.
The championship tees were not mowed, but the course is difficult even from yellow, so this circumstance does not mean a restriction for normal golfers. The greens were also in good condition for the time of year and are fun.
I was totally disappointed by the bunkers, which do not do justice to the place in terms of quality and were one of the worst things I have seen so far: hard sand, littered with stones of a considerable size (approx. 5 cm), sometimes tufts of grass and small bushes grow in the Bunkers, so that "waste areas" in the truest sense of the word have arisen here, which pose a danger to the thugs.
I find the layout difficult but interesting, the paths between the tracks are sometimes a bit longer.
The driving range with lawn tees is good, the clubhouse is good, when I arrived the reception was deserted for about 10 minutes, so a nice gentleman helped me with tokens. The reception later was very friendly, I think the green fee of 55 € is fair, there were many free tee times available.
Before visiting, however, one should answer the question of whether one is willing to accept such bunkers.

Dogleg fans will get their money's worth here. You can play with corners over trees, or a collection of bunkers, also over ponds / water hazards. :-) Absolutely no track is like the other.
We had a lot of fun on the round. Unfortunately, we couldn't play the last 3 lanes due to a thunderstorm...
Designated RV sites are currently being created. 2-3 even on a double green of the golf courses. An absolute highlight for motorhome drivers in the near future :-)

Played on July 2nd, 2020. The predominantly flat 18-hole golf course (cart not required) with an additional 6-hole short course (can be played without PE) is located on the Lower Rhine near Kleve and can be reached relatively quickly via the A57. The historic city of Xanten is also not far away and definitely worth a visit. Moyland Castle is right next to the golf course, which is also worth seeing. There is little street noise and nature dominates. Waterfowl and a few muskrats apparently feel very comfortable in the many ponds, some of which have bunkers or waste areas as a beach element. The design of the tracks is absolutely varied and basically exciting. Water comes into play on almost every railway. Already on lane 1 you have to cross a major water hazard just before the green and on lane 12 an island green comes into play after a dogleg. In general there are some doglegs and also some bushes, ingrown trees and high rough, so that strategic play makes sense. However, the discounts are mostly open, so that even high HC should be able to cope and the professionals among us can also whip out the driver. For safety's sake, you should have a few spare balls with you. By the way, after 9 holes you are not back at the clubhouse, but somewhere in the middle of the course, from where you can walk back to the clubhouse. The obviously only toilet on the square at 9 could be signposted a little better. Unfortunately, the maintenance condition was a major drawback. The fairways and most of the tees were mostly neglected due to many bald, dry and uneven areas. There was also a heavy overgrowth with clover, dandelions and daisies. Overall, this looks very ugly and has clouded the joy of playing the great course design. Some greens were also unsightly because of some bald spots. Apparently drainage was recently installed on some greens, which was still visible and disrupted in the putt line. There doesn't seem to be a classic clubhouse, or we haven't seen it. We paid our green fee after asking something in the restaurant next to the parking lot with a very nice employee. The standard green fee of € 50, both on weekdays and at the weekend, can be described as cheap if the place were in better condition. The price is probably also due to the direct competition next door. Discounts are available by booking last minute and with the Golf Albrecht vouchers. A surcharge for golfers without an “r” in their ID is not known here to promote golf. Starting times can easily be viewed and booked on the homepage. We had a start time on a Thursday afternoon. We could play light-heartedly in pairs up to the 12th lane. Then we and our two preflights ran on two or three four-man flights, which obviously played a private tournament, moved very slowly, of course let no one through and so we needed almost 2 hours for the last 6 lanes. Something similar happened to us here a few years ago, so that we even had to cancel the round at that time because of the darkness. That is a shame and unnecessary on weekdays when the game is rather relaxed. There should either be enough buffers installed at subsequent start times or a Marshall should intervene. If the maintenance condition were better, I would recommend the tour due to the course design, so I find it a little difficult. If you still play there, you shouldn't expect a noble meadow and bring some time with you if necessary.
