We played yesterday and were told we had to play the front/links nine due to maintenance on the north 9. Ironic as for most of the round we encountered diggers, lorrys ans chain saws with some cart paths blocked abs a lot of noise. Not what you want from a round of golf. Nelly the manager has not responded to feedback over 3 days and by visits and emails. Plenty of other golf courses- very disappointing.

We played Norte + Links on 19 Jan 2012. Dry, mainly sunny with some clouds, ca 20°. Links is "links" just by name: it doesn't look nor feel like the real thing. Both courses (Norte + Links) are well maintained, look fine, have nice views, although the Links nine are i.m.o. more pleasant. I don't like the blind shots one has to resort to. Beware for laying up at Links hole 4: the water is closer than you anticipate (rather: I anticipated ...). Small things: no logo balls, no stroke saver. Pitch fork for the collection ok. Conclusion: this is yet again one of the many golf courses available, though slightly more attractive then Amarilla which we played two days earlier. But every course, and every game, is a very personal experience.

The course is laid out in a very interesting way and is really fun!
Driving range, like almost everywhere in Spain, mixed with balls from several years ago and all of them had long since reached their expiry date.
For €39 I expect a cart that is not around 20 years old (there were no newer ones to be seen!!) and that can "master" the last hills in front of the clubhouse with two people!
There is aircraft noise on several runways, but this is the case at both places at the airport. The fact that this is a very windy corner makes the place rather interesting! It's a shame the club house is a pearl with its beautiful courtyard and is evidence of a beautiful past.

The 27 holes were planned and built by José (called Pepe) Gancedo and put into play at the end of the 1980s. He was responsible for doubling the golf offer within a decade. The links loop doesn't quite live up to its name, but it does justice to golf fun.
The design is very reminiscent of the US courses in Arizona or Florida. There are visually great holes, the whole thing looks harmonious. The palm trees that line the holes reinforce the US impression, apart from irrigation they cannot be found - the conditions are too dry and unreal. The links lead to the sea, has its own character - hardly any bunkers.
No matter which combination you play, the courses are easy to play - provided the wind doesn't want to prevent this. The Hoyos are on average less than 350 meters long, a real holiday course.
We were amazed at the bunkers that are filled with black volcanic sand. It's hard and grainy, takes some getting used to to play. after a few hits it works, the tracks in the club are solid after all.
These are all notes from two previous visits - today - the lines are not so positive!
The visit here is primarily due to the Covid pandemic, because all trips planned for the winter have become obsolete. We took Spain off the list years ago. There are several reasons for this, in particular the maintenance quality of the courses - too much does not fit together. Then, when the courses are well attended, you forget the effort and the focus is on maximizing sales - this is not the first time we have registered this.

A lot of work is required to get back to the previously good level. In this condition, the facility has no place in the ranking of the island courses, nor has it lost anything in the ranking of the top Spain courses!

The place is hilly, varied and we never get bored.
