Characteristics

Situated within one of France's most magnificent forest domains, the Association Golf Club d'Arc-en-Barrois offers a serene escape into nature. Established in 1986, this 9-hole course was designed by Jean Garaïalde to blend harmoniously with its verdant surroundings. While the setting is peaceful, the layout presents a technical challenge with narrow fairways, numerous dog-legs, and thirty-two bunkers. Two ponds and a river add strategic complexity to the round. After the game, the welcoming clubhouse provides a bar and snack service, making it an ideal spot to relax in the countryside.

Nature paradise

I played the course in May 2026. It's beautifully designed along a river and situated in a kind of castle park. Mature trees, water hazards, and the layout make it a wonderful experience. A lot of care is taken in maintaining the course, but the weather does take its toll on some fairways and greens. For me, however, this was an acceptable, minor drawback.
I arrived without prior notice, which wasn't a problem.
The one star deduction is due to the "clubhouse", as the catering was somewhat reluctant and only partially accommodating.

Beautiful parklandcourse

We played the course in early July. The course is totally hidden on the outskirts of the picturesque village. Recommended for campers, as there is a beautiful CP within walking distance. The course has absolute parkland character with tall trees. It also offers enough shade during the day. The fairways are wide and the greens are tricky and small. Since there is little sun on some tees, these are z. T. Not that great. Unfortunately, there is no irrigation, so it can be assumed that the place will be quite dry in July. Altogether worth a round just because of the wonderful place.
