The golf course is a successful combination of practicing golf on the highest international level and relaxing in the midst of nature. Overall, the club clearly sets the standard in Germany: an outstanding combination of training, club and pitch infrastructure, “American” so to speak… just big.
The practice greens are located between the clubhouse and the two courses, the long range is at the end of the facility - the supply is guaranteed by a great halfway house. Over the years - also through the previous European Tour tournaments - the club has acquired prestige, which is also visible.
The “Red” course is a long and wide parkland course. The newer of the two places “St. Leon” is left-inspired and more demanding, more varied. Both courses are maintained in an exemplary manner and are in the best condition from the tee box to the green - including the paths - depending on the weather and climate.
The facilities for the youth academy and fitness for the teams are impressive, visible in the teams and their results.

We (handicap 13 and 19) played St. Leon in June 2023 while passing through on a Saturday afternoon with the best weather.
Secretariat friendly and professional, but 135 € green fee on Saturday is already a word and raises expectations. Unfortunately, the entire premises (changing room, showers, half-way house, toilets on the square) are around 30 years old and, in my opinion, would urgently need to be renovated to meet the requirements.
Place technically in good condition, the design to my taste (except for a relatively large amount of water) rather boring, but maybe the topography is no longer there. Very positive: endless exercise possibilities, but we didn't use them except for the driving range.
Friendly service and very good gastro in the Half Way House.
Conclusion: you can play, I wouldn't make a big detour for it.

Very big disappointment, we didn't feel friendly at the counter and weren't treated from above. The club employees in the office seem to act flawlessly, several conversations didn't lead to any insight in our eyes. Statements about the green fee and hotel cooperation were made on the phone in advance, which none of the staff could remember later on site. On the contrary, the guest misunderstood something. No insight from the lady (name known) staff. No interest in solving the problem or in a compromise / goodwill arrangement. We canceled the tee time for the next day within the cancellation-free period. Nevertheless, fees should also be charged for this at the beginning. Incomprehensible.! Too bad if you travel 600 km. One might think that guests are not necessarily welcome.
Such behavior at the counter is very foreign to us.
We will definitely not visit this club again.
