Not ordinary course

Golf club Semily is one of the oldest and traditional clubs in Czech. They wrote a history of golf in Czech. I played here few times only. So Im very thankful to them that they never gave up during the "Comy time". Course is located next to river Jizera just at the city limits of town Semily, so its municipal course without any benefits like some other town courses. When you arrive you need to leave your car on designated parking course on the other side of river and cross specific bridge. Tee number 4 and 9 are just at the footsteps of the bridge, on other side is tee number 5 and clubhouse. Do not expect any fancy clubhouse, nothing here is ordinary, only fairways, greens and tees. Driving range is also available but its completely somewhere else. Reception is part of restaurant, do not expect a big proshop only few items to buy. However despite all of that it has atmosphere there and everyone is very friendly. Now to course itself. If you come to hit long shots, you will be upset. Very narrow fairways with small greens. If you cam to be hit by golf ball, it could happen most probably here for sure :D This course is specific that 1,2,8 fairway are all in one, so everybody here has to be very careful and abide golf rules. Nevertheless all well maintained, greens are slow but with no bad spots or anything. They are not very much undulated. Tees they got improved over the years, however on some you still need to hit of the mat. Course itself is short, only 1 par 5, many par 3. Each hole has its name. If I have to choose best holes I would say 4,8 and for sure 9. For sure the views are there beautiful. Dogs are not allowed on course so a bit weak point for me. Small kids are also not in favor in busy time, but they will let you, reason is obvious, they take care because ball are flying above your head. Value for your money is OK, its quite cheap. No buggy on this course at all. So its history, but its not the type of course where I would play often, maybe I come again in few years. Anyway thank you for your work.

Adventure playground

A little crowded it is already, the golf course in Semily, more or less crushed between the Jizera River and steep hills. This of course is also advised rather short, only - even small can be "powerful".

To save space, you have the driving range located more centrally in Semily, about 1 to 1.5 km away from the actual place that can be reached by a small parking lot just across a bridge. On the "street side" right of Jizera you also get then the first impression of the "powerful" The haircuts 4 and 9 extend across the river, the Green acts 4 despite a par 3 as the size of a postage stamp, behind begin the Wald, the Drive landing zone of 9 is then already at about 140m, which beginners probably could cost some balls.

The tiny "clubhouse" to reach so over the bridge, the green fee between 300 and 500 CZK (12-18 €) - on weekdays for 9 or 18 holes put a smile on someone's face. The Greenkeeper were pottering busily on, the place is in good condition, unfortunately, "may" the lords of getting used to knock mats. And not only that is used to, but costs the place a "good" - namely the history of the fairways. The fairway of 1 simultaneously serves the counter-rotating 2 (and 8). 1 and 2 cross the 5, the 5 then of course 1 and 2.6 and 7, although relatively "isolated" intersect also that 8 is a slope tee, almost a "blind shot" in the middle of the fairways 1 and 2. Attention is paramount, especially for players who do not know the place.

And then sometimes you can on forest tracks up the hill, with constant Beware of tree roots, they call for "foot fishing" would apply rather to.

The place deserves 4 stars, it is a dream, is maintained and not easy to play. By the mats and a crude layout there are only. 3
