Nice view but a bit close to motorway

Very well maintained golf course, with beautiful old trees offering nice views and good game, unfortunately the background noise from the motorway is reducing a bit the peaceful ambiance on the course. But not enough to be missed.

Manicured and welcoming

We are an English Society of 8 golfers who travel Europe playing the best courses. We loved Montreux for it's beauty and tree-lined course. The facilities are high class too for post-golf festivities

Price / performance too high

I played the course with colleagues on 6.5.2021 and was totally disappointed!
We were aware that the noise level was already very high due to the adjacent motorway. In addition, on this mean Thursday, sound from three helicopters and two jets had to be digested.
The sparse signage for the subsequent holes was also a shame; often had to look for the way.
The most arduous thing, however, was the dawdling 4-seater flight in front of us, all of which apparently didn't seem to know the rules of the label: They only let us pass after repeated requests. For a place in this price range, it can be expected that at least one ranger will look after everything!

Parkland Course

A beautiful old parkland course - a typical example of its time - which unfortunately today is subject to a lot of traffic noise, especially the first nine. The motorway and the feeder road run along the north and west of the square. Today we used the many old trees to provide shade - well over 30 degrees - it was very sweaty. The view of the mountains from some holes is great - postcard weather.

The club has a very eventful history, is the oldest in the region but also one of the oldest in Switzerland - the English were initially the ones who dominated the action. The current situation is the second home. It was built several times, first there were nine holes, which were later (twice) expanded to 18 holes. The area was used for food production during the war years. Donald Harradine is essentially responsible for today's layout, which he realized in the mid-1960s. Ron Fream revised the layout 15 years ago and completely rebuilt a few holes.

This completely flat course is not that difficult, the holes are not that long. You can almost always play the driver - enough space. The greens have been very well defended since the renovation. If you hit one of these bunkers there are problems, they are in poor condition, hard, too little sand and too many stones - a shame. Basically, the course is very well maintained, even if several pre-greens suffered from the summer heat. We didn't like a tea at all, it was covered in false grasses. We really liked the greens, they played great, but not that fast.

It was a relaxed round with mostly good scores, except for the players who hit the bunkers - they struggled.

Good clubhouse - the terrace is always a pleasure - very nice staff.

Nobody gave five stars, the lot had to decide three or four stars. The bunker players only wanted to give three stars.

Relaxing - but unspectacular

Actually, I had expected a bit more "american design style" from a Ronald Fream place. I found an old, well-grown place that has remained classic even after the gentle redesign. The feeling is similar to other traditional places (Interlaken, Bad Ragaz). Because the lanes often differ little from each other, the absolute highlight, the real Sinature Hole, is missing. Nevertheless, the day in Montreux was fun. Relaxing, relaxed, holiday golf.

Beautiful place, suffers from noise

This alteCllub boasts beautiful tree-lined avenues and the views into the surrounding mountains.
Even the green fee and the friendliness of the staff are totally Ok :-)
But... the on every hole extremely prominent road noise of the highway and other roads makes a golf enjoyment only with earplugs possible :-(
The extremely tight from the white tee tracks are a real challenge...

Little varied

Absolutely flat fairways lined delineated. Limited varied because some holes look similar. Can be played all year round with customized green fees. Restaurant ok.
