Characteristics
The clubhouse and the testing golf course are situated at an elevation of almost 1,700 ft in the midst of the Habichtswald forest bordering the Park Wilhelmshöhe, which features more than 100 different types of tree and is thus the biggest mountain park in Europe. Several holes provide a view of the over 230-ft tall Hercules monument, the landmark of Kassel.
The monument, the Kurhessentherme spa, and the city of Kassel itself are only a few minutes away from the golf course.

If we hadn't been in St Leon Rot 2 days ago, this place would definitely have gotten 5 stars.
Very friendly ladies at the reception make you feel welcome and valued as a guest. An attractive, modern clubhouse with good food and drink.
A VERY hilly course; many holes feature steep climbs from the tee, while it feels (which is absurd) that only half as many are downhill. Trees and woodland borders come into play on many holes. Today, the fairways were damp from the overnight rain but playable. The greens were sometimes very undulating but always fair, fast, and true. The greenkeepers, or rather the observer's eye, could still improve the second cut and rough near the fairway, as well as the connecting paths.
Overall, a very worthwhile course. We were very happy to have carts and admired the numerous members who run this course. It's all obviously a matter of training!

In bright sunshine, the Hercules monument standing at 530 meters high came into view at 2 and 3, that's something! The ingrown and very hilly golf course convinces with every hole with an extremely harmonious design. In order to be able to enjoy the Waldland golf course to the fullest, I also recommend a cart for trained travel golfers (who do not have e-trolleys with them). A real 5 star place!
Ps the fairways played perfectly, but were not in good condition. Certainly the hill tracks burn out particularly badly in the heat.
