Sporting challenge with high Course quality
The Greenkeeper team under the direction of Heiner Oppenberg has developed the 18-hole course at Issumer Fleuth into a real gem for golfers of all handicap classes. The hallmark is the high quality of the course. In Issum is played year-round (exceptions are few) on summer greens. From the former "secret tip" has become for many golfers out of this area.
The Course has two characters: Accurate play is rewarded with good scores. The first nine holes (par 35) are made up of long par-4 lanes (1 and 8), a relatively narrow par-5 hole (lane 6) and more trees than the golfer likes (lanes 4 and 9) biggest challenges. If you have mastered the demanding par 3 on the 10th hole on the second nine holes, you can look forward to three short par-4 holes. Unusual: There is no par-4 hole from the 14th hole - three par-5 holes (14, 15 and 18) and two par-3 holes (16, 17).

Relaxed golf on the Lower Rhine

Played on June 15,2020. The flat golf course is located on the Lower Rhine between Kamp-Lintfort and Geldern near the A57 and close to the Dutch border in absolute tranquility and nature. The ingrown PAR 71 course offers some interesting water hazards and trees that come into play again and again without being unfair. Most discounts are open, so even higher HC should be able to cope. It is unusual that the last five extinguishers are PAR 5.5, 3.3.5. So again a nice sprint at the end, whereby lane 14 also requires another strategic game over a water that divides the fairway in length. You can also see the game reserve next to lane 10, with what feels like about 50 deer. The condition of my game was okay, the greens in good condition. The one or the other way between the lanes and from the tee to the fairway could be better, but does not spoil the overall impression. The clubhouse looks rustic, but has everything you need. The secretariat was closed on a Monday morning when I was playing. The more than adequate green fee of € 50 (currently on weekdays and weekends) can be paid as a guest at the green fee mailbox. At the moment you need corona-related start times, which unfortunately can only be reserved by phone and not online. E-mails are answered quickly and friendly. The game was brisk but not overcrowded, the members greeted friendly. If you are nearby and don't expect a posh meadow, I can absolutely recommend a round in Issum.
