Challenging

Very challenging course with great greens. Fairways were a bit wet and muddy. Roughs on se ond nine are killing. Bring your accuracy in shape on this course. Amenities are ok, well maintained driving range. Weak point here is hole 19th. Honestly would expect better service, especially on weekends. As I always review whole picture I say its just average compare to other places I already visited.

Almost perfect

Get your iron play into shape, the starting and finishing holes demand it. Fantastic and challenging course. Great experience all the way around. Nice reception, friendly players. Only bad hole was the 19. I ordered a carpaccio. I ended up facing a plate of grey meat which turned out to be deep frozen. I send it back and soon after the chef entered with the same plate of frozen meat and explained that this is how it is supposed to be. I shrugged it off, left my plate and paid. I will be playing the course again, but next time I will eat somewhere else.

Best regards

...old and new...

...You can see from this place that at first it only had 9 holes that come from a different time period - that's not negative.

Bernhard von Limburger built the first nine, these were revised and expanded to 18 holes by Donald Harrad Harradine in the 1990's.

The course, built in hilly surroundings - with beautiful views of the valley - convinces with good care.

The score card is deceptive - averaging less than 350 yards back tees per hole, it's not that long - only two par 4s of over 400 yards. It's the terrain transitions that cause work on some holes, also because some are quite narrow.

The first six holes are played on the original course, then the new holes are played until you are back on the 16.
You can really put your foot down on the new holes and let the driver do the work, while on the old holes mostly only a 3 wood was played from the tee.
Holes 9 and 11 are the most exciting for us.

The terrain transitions ensure sportiness, also the sometimes long distances from the green to the tee, the place is easy to walk on.

It was great fun, we were last here 10 years ago.

We give a solid four stars - five is a bit too much for us.

Discerning place

I've played here a few times this year and have always found the course to be in good condition. I noticed that because it had been unusually cold and rainy for the last two or three months, which must have made maintenance very difficult. I find the course very challenging, I never get bored, every track has its own character. This is ensured by the topography and the course layout. The greens are faithful and neatly fast.

I've gotten used to the long walk between the old and the new square and on the way back I have enough time to prepare myself mentally and morally for the "Amen Corner"! This name for lanes 16,17 and 18 is absolutely correct and I love challenges! I suspect whoever plays their handicap in Hechingen plays it everywhere.

The place also offers visual treats! Whenever I play hole 1, turn around and enjoy the view of Hohenzollern Castle, which towers majestically into the sky in the extension! Imposing! Whenever I look to the left from the patio, I think it looks like a park, but it's the fairways of Amen Corner. The terrace is ideally located with a view of the 18th green with the long pond in front of it.

The gastronomy is good, everyone here is nice, the members, gastronomy, board and of course the ladies from the secretariat! I like coming here and I really feel at home here!

Nice well-kept place

We were with our camper at the square under the castle and spent a quiet, relaxing night in the large parking lot.
In the morning we started our 18-hole round with a well-kept cart, the weather and the course were at their best.
Interesting to play with a nice length and some doglegs.
Very well-kept greens and fairways

Likeable - for dogleg fans

The place and everything around is incredibly personable. Great welcome, good Italian gastro. The place was partly in a bit bad condition. It is divided into a new and an old place with quite different characteristics. Exciting and varied to play with a sporty touch. The geometry requires long transfer paths. Weg likes tactical doglegs comes into its own here. If you stay in a couple hotel, you can play here for free - great offer. Regional ***, international ***. Worth a visit - value for money as mentioned ***.

Top with a view of the castle

Beautiful old place complemented by open, spacious lanes! 2: 1 with Albrecht, if I were in charge of the club I would take away the bushes and the tree at 18 that blocks the view of the castle!

Very interesting and varied round

As a beginner, we played our first "normal" round on the golf course yesterday and found the course extremely interesting and varied. We were amazed at how much it paces up and down on individual tracks. At the end of lane 3 we were almost out of breath. For HCP54 it is very challenging, but definitely playable.
The place is well marked and the paths are all easy to find. We were welcomed in a very straightforward and friendly manner in the secretariat. We will definitely be back.

Course with 2 faces

The old square is narrow, parkland style. The new place wide and spacious. The connection between the two places is cleverly resolved. Only the way there is very long. Overall, the course promises a good day of golf in all handicap classes. The place was in good condition and the reception was very friendly. However, we were a bit disappointed with the gastro.

We'll be back

Pretty much everything perfect, very nice secretary.

Only with the signs it hooks. Actually a problem of many courses - but on this literally a missing link. There are probably not enough green fee players ;-)

Apropro's green fee: absolutely worth the money, challenging, charming and scenic split. We'll be back!

Two in One

In glorious autumn weather we were on a well-maintained place to enjoy a nice round of golf. As noted by others, the plant is divided into a new and an old part that play very differently. Narrow, strongly ingrown paths on which it partially tidy up- and downhill going. By contrast, there is the new part of the spacious, long paths with little gradient. Everywhere, it is peaceful. It has beautiful views of the castle Hohenzollern, the nightmare and region. So makes playing golf fun and relaxed. Just past 5 stars, because of the very long trail between the space parts.
Very friendly welcome at the Secretariat and considerate Greenkeeper.

Varied

The space is divided into an old part new. The eight holes of the old square (hole 18 is currently under renovation) outfitted with narrow fairways and many beautiful and ancient trees. The course requires accurate play here.

The new part is modern applied. The fairways are wide and awarded a rather a bad shot.

You really get the feeling of playing on two different courses.

A round of golf is highly recommended.

Played on 08/15/2015 in good condition you have to cut back due to the long heat! Square has developed well, was 5 years ago the last time there! Secretariat very friendly! Come back

Thumbs up!

A very nice place, both scenic as convinced of the state space! We played on a Saturday in April a relaxing round. By changing old - new place part of the course is very varied. The "old part" is beautifully waxed -allerdings makes the trees for narrow fairways and thus challenges. The new part - sometimes forgiving with wide fairways, some tricky doglegs by water and a lot of fun.

For us, definitely worth repeating and a clear game recommendation!

Golfing with friends

I played the first time the place last year and equal part in the four championships.
The Plaz is beautiful to play very varied and with brains. The greens fast and spurteu. I have rarely played a place that is like this so multi-faceted and is so much fun. You should be able to walk because there is between the orbits some long walks and the place is anything but flat.
That reminds me of the place enjoyed it so much, I've come back with my friends from Vienna two weeks ago... everyone loved it.
The Gastro also very good and friendly. The small, well-stocked pro shop is a must!
These here is the extreme hospitality. I play a lot of different places and am still niergends been greeted so warmly welcome, such as here. Whether in the office, or ProShop Gastro... on the square one is immediately recognized by the members as a guest and spoken friendly.
Finally, the green fee is actually more than fair and reasonable. Looking forward, soon to be in place.

Golfing with friends

Beautifully landscaped golf course with stunning views of the Hohenzollern castle. The old trees in conjunction with some to be overcome meters altitude makes golf for the ambitious golfer highly sophisticated. But the novice is given a fair chance and the prospect long remember.
We were there at different seasons. The condition of the course was to consistently rated as above average.

Good local cuisine at reasonable prices you can get on the outdoor terrace overlooking the 9th Hole.

We have not been definitely the last time there and look forward to our next visit to knitting,.
