Beautifully laid out place with very good standards of care. The course has 18 and 9 holes. The 9 hole course has more water hazards, but is a little shorter. The practice facility is also beautifully laid out and offers a lot of possibilities. Top quality range balls!
All in all, an excellent golf course with a nice restaurant with excellent cuisine. We last played the 18-hole course on March 2nd, 2024; The course is also in good condition for this time of year.

...we stretched our feet here a few times on trips to the south, in spring or autumn, and played a round. We usually do this in Ticino or northern Italy.
We were stranded here for three nights, the weather south of the Aplen was even worse than the forecast - all courses were closed - and we played here in very good conditions. After these nights we started our journey home.
There are beautiful, almost completely flat 27 holes in the middle of the mountains, in a very quiet location. Many holes are playfully long - they are in the wind - on average, a little more than 340 meters are shown per hole. The well-placed fairway bunkers are hardly even in play, there is enough space next to them. Taken as a whole, they are almost board-level courses that are easy to play, but with greens that are sometimes very challenging.
Today we had to play the distances, there was little roll, the ground was soft. We really liked the greens, very easy to play, great speed.
The layout is good, there are a few exciting holes, the maintenance is good - in many parts very good.
The new staircase to the men's tees on hole 14 is a hit, now the pedaling ratio is correct!!!
The thing that bothered us was the divots on the tees that weren't reseeded!!!
What doesn't fit, however, are the many Scottish Green bunkers with their walls that are much too steep. They are easily enough to ruin the score, no chance of breaking free when the ball is close behind these walls!!!
The high-voltage line and the industrial complex disturb the picture a little. The training opportunities here are absolutely top, the best we know in the Aplen area.
We particularly like these courses in spring and summer when the rough is high. It draws the course particularly beautifully, the disadvantage is that the balls are gone when you land on them.
We didn't lose any balls today, it was freshly mown.
We played Yello and Red, we played Blue several years ago, before its renovation.
The layout of these holes deserves four stars - especially thanks to the greens - but the maintenance doesn't quite deserve it. The fairways were cut a little high, there were a lot of mowing residues still lying around and the tees.
Very considerate greenkeepers!!!
The lottery had to decide whether it was enough for four or just three stars - unfortunately no five stars, there's a lot missing.

Somehow I'm not quite warm with the places in Domat-Ems. Although everything is professional and well-maintained from AZ, the training and playing opportunities (27 holes) are above average. For good management speaks that the driving range is open to non-golfers - so uncomplicated togetherness. So why only 3 stars? Somehow I miss the 27 hole something. Is it because of the consistently flat tracks with the rather subtle tree population, which have for me little independent? Or because it is not always easy to see where the ball should be placed? In short: I miss in Domat Ems something of the charm, the independent character. A pity, for a dedicated managed facility.

My rating from 2011 still fits. The place itself (yellow / red) is absolutely great. Even better than in previous years. The condition of the greens is really brilliant. The secretariat and restaurant are also convincing. In addition, they have the "world's best" Marshall with Sebi.
Unfortunately, there are deductions for the greenkeepers - and not too short. The fact that this mower with running engine scarcely ten meters behind the player (in the direct line of sight) waits and does not react to signs, does not work. In the same round, the same happens at the tea box with another greenkeeper - and even during the Ausholbewegung even the speed of the engine is increased... What's that?
Domat-Ems fulfills in many respects the claim to a top position, also in the price. For all appreciation of the work of the greenkeepers - they too are an important factor in the evaluation of a place. Unfortunately, there is still room for improvement here...

With the conversion or upgrade of the "Blue Course" Domat Ems has over three times very nice and varied 9-hole courses. If you are a little player, you can choose from the blue, yellow and red round or play all 27. The very friendly staff is gladly possible (I recommend Y & R ...). All places are practically at any time of the year (ok, in the winter, dependent on the weather ...) properly maintained. The railways are fair to challenging and tactically always interesting. Wind is here in the Rhine valley always a fellow player, especially on warm days in the afternoon. Until the first "hay cut" the Roughs provide for desperation. Exercise & Clubhouse are first class. All in all the (1/2) day here is a great golfing experience and its - not very cheap - price worth.

A wonderful golf course in every way.
Just great and a great experience to play on this place, no matter what game level.
Not only the playgrounds are well maintained, the whole area is also beautifully designed and for the eye a pleasure.

Now play 15 years of golf at home and abroad and have never received a "scorecard" for a "Freundschaftsrunde" according to my HCP.
