Spectacular view, good course

A spectaculat setting on a plateau high in the mountains with stunning views. Two different nines with the first in quite tight forest and the back nine out in the open. In good condition and a fair test. In our trip in the Bolzano region it would rate quite highly. Sparse pro shop but excellent food.

A Great Course - But

My wife and I played this course this summer and found the layout and condition to be excellent. The views are breathtaking and the staff were friendly and courteous. I would recommend it to anyone who plays and is in the area. There was however a downside to our day. The rental clubs we had to pay for would not have made it in a garage sale of junk. They were odds and end which they must have picked up from used club sales after anything good had been sold. It would not hurt them to at least put in a couple of sets of good rental clubs for visitors who may want to take advantage of what is a hidden jewel.

Simply beautiful

Unfortunately read the reviews too late. The course consists of completely different 2 x 9 holes. The 1.9 are wonderfully shady cut purely in pine trees. Still 7 top scores with hybrid discounts, almost 200 m are enough, I also wanted to drive. Then that went wrong. Although no rough. You don't lose a ball. Then come the 2.9. A lot of fairway, hardly any trees, the driver is right here. Boring at first but then a few signature holes. Especially the par 3 down with the church tower behind the flag. Wow.
The photo shows hole 10 where you then come out of the pine trees into the open air. Played with carrying bag. It's never really steep.
The 5th star is for the 2 for 1 from Albrecht

Beautiful well-kept place

Course condition, good to very good
Place character, slightly hilly but easy to walk the first 9 in the forest, the tracks are sometimes dangerously close together️ that's why no 5 stars, the second 9 really nice with a lot of mountain views
Secretariat, friendly
Gastro, good quality at good prices

Conclusion: We have been there several times and look forward to the next time

I expected more

Based on the reviews I expected more from the place.
Even though I started with a birdie, I couldn't really get used to the course. But I can't say what bothered me. I would only give it 3.5 stars but round up because of the partially beautiful view. At the reception and in the restaurant there was nothing to complain about.

Demanding course with a breathtaking view of the second 9

I played the course in the fall - at the end of October. At this time the places in South Tyrol are already pretty empty. But Petrus meant it very well and I was able to enjoy the round in fantastic autumn weather, blue skies and sunshine. However, you should be prepared for the altitude that at this time the temperatures are already very low in the morning, but also rise sharply in the sun during the day - onion look is the order of the day.
The first new holes are difficult to play as the lanes are very narrow and are closely lined with many trees. Water also often comes into play. Certainly quite difficult for players with a higher handicap or you should be prepared for a slow pace. So you often have to look for balls - or play back on the fairway between trees. Precise play is required on the first nine, otherwise there will be great difficulties if you end up in the trees or in the forest.
The fairways and greens were in good condition - of course there was one or the other spot on the fairways or the greens that was no longer in top condition, depending on the season. Overall, the greens were mowed short and relatively fast. There was no water on the fairways and they were easy to play everywhere. Overall, the complex looks very well-kept.
The character of the second nine is fundamentally different from the first nine. If you go to tee off the 10, the forest opens up and you can enjoy the view of an impressive panorama. From now on it's more about long strokes. The lanes become wide and leave a lot of space for not exactly straight strokes. The terrain becomes more hilly, the lanes longer and the views impressive. Personally, I liked the second nine a lot better because I play long shots rather than precise shots. In addition, the view is so breathtaking that this alone justifies a visit to the golf course.
The approach turns out to be quite interesting, for example, coming from Bolzano, it goes almost incessantly up the Mendel Pass. During this ascent, too, there are impressive views of the mountains around Bolzano and the Adige Valley.

The driving range is spacious and very long. The golf course can be tackled on foot with a trolley or cart. Those who are reasonably good on foot can walk well here.

Overall, one of the most beautiful golf courses that I have played in South Tyrol / Trentino. If you are in the region and play golf, you should play the Dolomiti Golf Club!

Rather difficult, long course with a lot of forest at first - and a lot of mountain views on 2.9.

Once again a dream!

We played this course for the umpteenth time on October 15,2021 in wonderful autumn weather, and were very enthusiastic. The condition of the fairways was excellent, the greens very fast, the pitch marks were unfortunately not repaired by some guests. The front desk was extremely courteous and nice, both on the phone and on site. We would love to come back.

Just beautiful

We played the course years ago and the positive impression from back then has strengthened (played on August 31st). Nice, businesslike reception. Tees, fairways and greens in excellent condition. Varied tracks through the forest and on the plateau with the corresponding view reinforce the positive overall impression. Driving range and associated practice facilities including a 4-hole short course leave nothing to be desired, even for those who like practice. Changing rooms and sanitary facilities very tidy. Gastronomy attentive and with a diverse range. Small downer: Please inquire in advance at what time the kitchen closes in the evening.
A large area is available for campers. Member of Leisure Breaks and Albrecht Golf: Double the fun for half the price.
Oh yes, a tip that we still have to get rid of: On the way back to Bolzano over the Mendel Pass, there is a junction to Penegal shortly before the village of Mendola. Breathtaking view of the greater Bolzano area, including the Dolomites and Lake Caldaro, as well as Brenta and the Ortler group on the other side. Of course, only if the weather is right.

Great layout - gigantic views - very poor service - extremely crowded

We (HCP 16 and 18) are repeat offenders.

The place has a great layout and gigantic views

That alone is a good reason to play here.

Unfortunately, there are also negative impressions that predominate today (September 2020).

At short notice, our start time (booked weeks ago) was moved from Wed to Thu. The place was extremely full - 4 flights (which were also very slow) and 2 flights in between. Great - we then teamed up with the 2-person flight behind us. The Marshall didn't care.

State of the green it's like this - the first 9 - in the forest - slow and bubbly - the 2nd 9 were good.

Check-in - underground - the guy totally unfriendly and overwhelmed - queue in front of the reception - I haven't had that either...

Restaurant exactly like last year - unfriendly service... that was much better on all other rounds in the region; 0(

Team, clubhouse and gastronomy good.
The place is actually as already described in a good condition and varied. A bit tight at first nine, so that you had to play precisely. The second nine offer in addition to wider Fairs a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. You can forget about the game without forgetting the game.

Do you have to have played

We played the course three times. For the first time on Mondays. Here were the tees and the fairways in a not great high condition. On Tuesdays, the second nine were then mowed well and on Wednesday also the first. The first nine are a parkland course. Narrow tracks that require precise play. The greens are difficult but faithful in the track. The second nine are simply indescribable. This panorama all around with a view of the Dolomites. Just unbelievable. The longest par 5 with over 570 meters for men and then uphill... The clubhouse is nice. You are sitting comfortably. The food is affordable and more than acceptable after the round of golf. German is spoken and we had really nice flight partners. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back.

Just beautiful...

We have already played the course 3 times. Every time again an experience! The first 9 holes through the forest are hard to play and you should often leave the woods in the bag... on the second 9 holes but you can let off steam in this respect...

The only drawback is the playing time: You definitely have enough time to bring along, especially on public holidays or on weekends.

Waiting times at each hole of up to 10 minutes are to be planned! This makes a star deduction!

Great well-kept place

The place is very nice location and offers a great view in the sunshine (we had unfortunately not so good weather caught on the day). The place is in a very good condition and well maintained! He offers something for everyone. Water hazards, bunkers, wide but also narrow fairways. Conditionally he is doable without a golf car because he is not very hilly. Shortcoming: the clubhouse seems a bit old. In addition, you should not forget anything when you are from abroad, because the secretariat is not exactly cooperative as regards forwarding. Here you have to take care of a shipping company, which of course is not really effective.

A big movie theater

Right at the beginning:
What a fantastic golf course!

A fantastic course condition, great greens, a world-class layout, just a really good golf course.

The playfully more beautiful holes for me are the front-9, you play permanently between rows of trees in the forest, demanding but never unfair.

The Back-9 have landscape to offer something really, you play on a high plateau and can look forward to a beautiful landscape.

The fact that the Back-9 forgive more and playfully easier, will accommodate many.

Conclusion:
This golf course is fantastic and worth a longer journey from other parts of South Tyrol in any case.

And yes, the last time our round as described elsewhere also took quite a long time, because slow flights were in front of us. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the space and the landscape and the casual atmosphere. What the hell, we are on vacation, in the south. So we like 5 stars!

As already noted by other players, the front Nine and the back Nine play completely different.
While the first nine lanes run relatively narrow through a pine forest, the second nine lanes are open on a high plateau and offer beautiful far-off views. The condition at the beginning of October was very good.
The place can also play well without Cart, as the altitude differences keep within limits.
Clubhouse and restaurant can not be quite with the place. But a round of golf is worth it here.

Cooling in height

Played in June 2017 during the heat season.

Great place with 2 different characters

The first 9 through the forest, somewhat tight, require precise play.
The second 9 with a lot of space, which makes one a bit to the negligence in the wide hunt.

Care condition due to ongoing drought was sensational.

The cooling in the height was very pleasant, while in Bolzano pushing 34 degrees, the thermometer on the height reached a pleasant 27 degrees.

Course with 2 faces

Dolomiti Golf, played Monday, 05/10/2015. If (south) west of Bolzano.
With more than 6100 meters (yellow) one of the long seats here, if not the longest course. 18 holes already sometimes have an increase but for the region but striking just because it is on a high plateau. On the "back nine" has the place remarkably more length, width and wide view. The place has two faces and the first nine are located in the forest, but mostly has tracks that are still wide enough. The back nine then the image in a strikingly broad (and longer) place of extreme farsightedness and beautiful panorama transforms offers. The condition is perfect. He deserves because he to St Vigil-Seis was the best of 5 played places for me 5 stars, with Peter Berg (No. 4), Passeier (No. 3) and Appiano (certain concessions; qv) are playing places worth.

The most beautiful place in South Tyrol

Very beautiful and varied place in a very good state of maintenance. The first 9 holes are a parkland course, while the 2nd th 9 holes, much more open and spacious are applied. Here you can then also enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountain ranges. For a place in the Alps, the fairways can be managed relatively flat and easy walking. We played the course before / during the "Retiacup" and there was the place in excellent condition with "fast" greens. Since the place is "encouraged" by the State Trentin, are the differences to the other two 18 hole courses (Passeier & San Vigilio) already very large. ME one of the most beautiful places in the southern Alpine region at fair prices.

A beautiful location on a ridge with stunning panoramic location. One can at the prospect hardly concentrate on his game :-) The first nine holes are created in the forest. The trees and partly narrow lanes erforden a certain precision, otherwise there's nothing to get. The second nine are then more for the long hitters (track 10: Par 5 with 576m of yellow!). It goes sprawling meadows and you can sometimes distort tion discount. Here you can save the score again.

GO THERE!

Golfers, you come to northern Italy, traveling to Sarnonico! We (HC order die18) have played this course in May 2011. Very clean area, nice clubhouse with good cuisine. A place that sets yardsticks: The first 9 are in the forest, where you will also find the ball when it comes to lie somewhat Away from the fairway, there is usually no undergrowth limited the holes. Attractive design, very good care condition. We had e-carts latest design with automatic brake that can be used on the fairways (There are no roads), but these have not harmed.
The back nine on a kind of mountain pasture with extensive views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Remarkably beautiful. The approach we have (leave motorway at Trento) from the south through a beautiful high valley made further towards home the 14 hairpin bends of the Mendel Pass down with breathtaking views of Lake Caldaro. Arrival and departure were already worth the small detour.
