Characteristics
The golf course Cansiglio is situated in an altitude of 1.000 m in the forest of Cansiglio and is a mountainous course. Styled in 1956 according to plans by Robert Trent Jones, the course spreads over moderately wavy terrain with thick soft gras and framed by trees giving shadow, behind which the glittering peeks of the Dolomites tower.

Breathtaking Views

This course is by far my favorite course in Italy. The altitude allows my drives to fly further than ever and there is no part of the course that you can not take in a bad view. You're surrounded by mountains and pine trees. My favorite hole is #10, where you climb up to a ski lift and hit your tee shot straight down over a water hazard. While you're waiting on the tee box, you can see for miles and just enjoy the scenery. The staff are extremely friendly.

We played the system at the end of August 2022 - I cannot understand the partly enthusiastic comments. The place (not at 1500 but 1050 m) was in a terrible state of maintenance; Course design: the front nine modest, on the back nine at least one or the other interesting hole. Panorama: not really spectacular, a high plateau with "normal" mountain scenery as a frame. The clubhouse: charm of a sports club, not at all inviting; We can't make any statements about the quality of the kitchen. In summary: a total disappointment!

The almost infinitely long journey is more than worth it. The 18-hole course is located on a large mountain plateau in the middle, surrounded by the spectacular landscape. The varied and exciting course has good lengths and a perfect Grüna during our visit!

At over 80 years of age, the greenkeeper is one of the oldest in the world and 62 years old, probably also the longest-serving!
